Do I need to be an artist to join a graffiti retreat?

You don't need a single ounce of artistic talent to enjoy our retreat workshops in Amsterdam! Our professional artists specialize in breaking down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. We start with basic spray can control and move on to layering and shading. Most of our guests are pleasantly surprised by how much they can achieve in just a couple of hours. It’s all about the experience and expression, not perfection!

What should I wear for the workshop?

We’ve got you covered! We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep your clothes clean. However, graffiti can sometimes be a bit unpredictable, so we always recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you wouldn't mind getting a tiny speck of paint on. Think casual and practical so you can move freely while you create your masterpiece!

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our top priority. We use high-quality spray paints and provide all necessary protective gear, including professional-grade masks. Our workshops take place in well-ventilated areas or dedicated legal graffiti zones in Amsterdam. Our instructors are experienced professionals who provide clear safety briefings before anyone touches a spray can, ensuring a fun and secure environment for everyone involved.

How long does a typical retreat workshop last?

The duration usually depends on your specific retreat goals, but most sessions last between 2 to 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, technique practice, and the creation of a final collaborative or individual piece. If you’re looking for a more intensive full-day retreat experience, we can certainly customize the schedule to fit your group's needs.

Can you host the workshop at our own retreat location?

Absolutely! While we love hosting groups at our iconic Amsterdam street art locations, we are fully mobile. If your retreat is hosted at a hotel, conference centre, or private estate, we can bring the workshop to you. We use mobile canvas walls and protective floor coverings to ensure the venue remains spotless while your team gets creative. Just let us know your location!

Do I need to pay upfront for the booking?

We believe in the quality of our experiences, which is why we don't require upfront payments for most bookings. You can book your date and finalize the details with us first, and payment is typically handled after the workshop is completed. This adds a layer of trust and flexibility to your planning process, ensuring you are 100% satisfied with the creative result.

What are the minimum and maximum group sizes?

Our Amsterdam retreat workshops are incredibly flexible. We can host small, intimate groups of 10 people for a focused creative session, or large-scale corporate retreats with over 100 participants. For larger groups, we bring in extra professional artists to ensure everyone gets personal attention and guidance. We tailor the number of instructors and materials to match your group size perfectly.

Местна култура

Amsterdam is a city where history meets high-energy urban culture. While many know the canals and museums, the real soul of the city's modern art scene lives in places like the NDSM Wharf or the street art alleys of the Jordaan. Our retreats often take place near these iconic hubs, giving you a front-row seat to world-class murals by international legends. The Dutch "Gedoogbeleid" (tolerance policy) has fostered a unique environment where street art isn't just graffiti—it's a celebrated part of the city's visual identity.

Fun Fact: Amsterdam is home to the world's largest street art museum, "STRAAT," located in an old shipyard. It's the perfect place to get inspired before you pick up a spray can in our workshop! 🎨
