How long does a graffiti birthday party in Ghent typically last?

Most workshops in Ghent last between 1.5 and 2 hours. This is the 'sweet spot' where energy levels are high, and every child has enough time to finish their masterpiece without getting tired. We can adjust the duration slightly based on your party schedule or the number of mini-artists attending. It’s the perfect amount of time to learn, spray, and celebrate together!

Is it safe for children to use spray cans?

Safety is our top priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective gloves, and single-use ponchos to keep clothes clean. Our professional artists supervise every step, ensuring the spray cans are used correctly. While we provide ponchos, we always recommend that kids wear 'old' clothes and sneakers just in case they get a bit too enthusiastic with the paint!

What is the minimum age for a graffiti workshop?

Ideally, we recommend our birthday parties for children aged 7 and up. At this age, they generally have the hand strength to press the spray caps and the focus to follow the basic techniques. For younger creative souls, we can adapt the session with more stencils and simplified tasks to ensure they feel like part of the crew too!

Do we have to come to a specific location in Ghent?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. We have several 'legal' street art locations in Ghent, but if you have a garden or a private driveway with enough space and ventilation, we can often come to you! We'll just need to check if the area is suitable for a bit of colourful (but contained) mess.

Do the kids need any prior drawing or art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our Ghent-based artists are experts at breaking down complex street art into easy-to-follow steps. Whether your child is a budding Picasso or has never held a spray can before, they will leave the session with a piece of art they are truly proud of.

What happens if it rains on the day of the party?

Don't worry, the Belgian weather won't ruin the fun! In Ghent, we have access to covered outdoor spots and indoor venues that are well-ventilated. If the forecast looks particularly rainy, we will coordinate with you to ensure the party happens in a dry, comfortable environment so the paint (and the kids) stays perfect.

Trin for trin

Pick your date: Check your calendar and select a time that works for your squad. Ghent is popular, so booking a few weeks ahead is smart!
Choose your spot: Decide if you want to join us at a local Ghent street art wall or if you have a private space we can use.
Safety briefing: We start with a quick intro on how to use the gear, put on our masks, and suit up in protective ponchos.
Design session: Our artist helps the birthday star and friends sketch their ideas and understand how "layers" work in graffiti.
Can control: Learn the "secret handshakes" of the spray can—lines, dots, and fills. We practice on the wall or a canvas first.
The Big Piece: Everyone works together or on individual panels to create a vibrant, colourful masterpiece.
Final tag: Learn how to add a "tag" (your street artist signature) to the work for that authentic finish.
Photo op: We take plenty of group photos with the finished artwork—perfect for showing off on social media!
Takeaway: If you've opted for canvases, the kids get to take their unique creations home as the coolest party bag ever.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Lokal kultur

Ghent is a city that breathes creativity, from the historic charm of the Graslei to the vibrant colours of the famous Werregarenstraatje (Graffiti Alley). It’s one of the most street-art-friendly cities in Belgium, making it the perfect backdrop for a graffiti-themed birthday. We love tapping into that local Ghent spirit of "Artevelde city" rebellion and artistic freedom. Our workshops often take inspiration from the incredible murals seen around the Dampoort area, encouraging kids to contribute to Ghent’s reputation as a modern art hub.

Fun Fact: Ghent's Graffiti Alley is one of the few places in Europe where street art is officially "tolerated" by the city, meaning the walls are constantly changing with new art every single day!
