How long does a typical workshop for primary schoolers last?

For primary schools, we recommend a duration of 1.5 to 2 hours. This is the 'sweet spot' for keeping younger children engaged without them getting overly tired. Within this timeframe, they can learn the basics, practice their technique, and complete a final collaborative mural or individual canvas. We can adjust the pace based on your school's schedule, ensuring every child has a blast!

Is the spray paint safe for young children to use?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks and gloves. We also use low-odour, water-based spray paint whenever possible for indoor settings or younger groups. Our professional artists are highly experienced in supervising children, ensuring a controlled and safe environment where the only thing spreading is creativity!

Can you host the workshop at our school premises in Nice?

We can! Graffitifun is fully mobile. We can bring the street art experience right to your school playground in Nice. We use temporary wooden walls or large plastic canvases to protect your school property. If you'd prefer an off-site experience, we also have access to various urban spots around the city. We handles all the setup and cleanup for you.

Do the children need any previous art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our friendly artists break down the techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps that even the youngest pupils can master. We focus on 'controlled creative chaos'—helping children build confidence as they see their ideas come to life on a large scale. No prior artistic skill is required!

What is the cost per student for a school workshop?

Our primary school pricing in Nice typically ranges from €30 to €65 per pupil. The final cost depends on the total number of children, the duration of the session, and the amount of materials required. We offer special rates for larger school groups to make it as accessible as possible. Contact us for a tailored quote that fits your school's specific budget!

What should the students wear on the day?

Comfort is key! We recommend children wear 'old' clothes that parents don't mind getting a little messy. While we provide protective overalls and gloves, graffiti is an active and sometimes splashy art form. Closed-toe shoes are a must for safety. We’ll provide a handy checklist for teachers to send home to parents before the big day!

Can we choose a specific theme for the mural?

Definitely! We love it when schools have a specific theme, such as 'The Environment', 'Friendship', or 'Our City Nice'. Our artists can pre-sketch a large mural based on your chosen topic, which the children then help fill in and detail. It’s a fantastic way to link art with other subjects in the primary curriculum like geography or social studies.

Βήμα προς βήμα

The warm welcome: Our artists arrive at your Nice school and set up the creative zone with boards, paints, and safety gear.
Safety first briefing: We show the kids how to use the gear properly, focusing on mask-wearing and safe spraying techniques.
Introduction to graffiti: A short, fun history of street art and how it evolved from simple tags to amazing murals.
First lines: Pupils practice holding the cans and making basic shapes and lines on practice boards to get a feel for the pressure.
Lettering basics: We teach them how to build their own 'tag' or stylized letters, encouraging their unique personality to shine.
Colour and fill: Time to get vibrant! The kids learn how to fill in shapes and create cool fade effects between colours.
The master project: The group works together on a large-scale mural or individual canvases based on the day's theme.
Final touches: Our artists help the kids add sharp outlines and 'highlights' to make their artwork really pop.
The big reveal: A mini-gallery walk where pupils celebrate their work and take photos with their masterpiece!

Τοπική κουλτούρα

Nice is famous for its stunning Mediterranean light, which has inspired artists like Matisse and Chagall for decades. Today, that artistic spirit lives on in the city's thriving street art scene. While wandering through the Vieux Nice or near the Gairaut district, you'll spot incredible murals that blend modern urban culture with the city's historic charm. We love bringing this local "Nicois" energy into our workshops! 🎨

Fun Nice Fact: Did you know that Nice has its own dedicated "Street Art Route"? The city officially supports urban artists, transforming grey walls into open-air galleries. Our workshops help your students understand they are part of this living artistic history!

Τιμολόγηση

We believe every child should have the chance to be an artist, which is why we offer flexible pricing for Nice schools. Our rates generally fall between €30 and €65 per student, depending on the number of participants and the length of the workshop.

Because every school has different needs—whether it's a one-off treat or a full-day arts week—we recommend getting in touch for a bespoke price.
