What is the best time of year for a graffiti summer camp in Leipzig?

Leipzig is a city of seasons! While our summer camps are most popular from June to August, we offer creative workshops all year round. In summer, we take advantage of the long days and great outdoor vibes at legal spray walls. If you are planning for a different time, we can also arrange heated indoor spaces to keep the creativity flowing.

How do you ensure the safety of the teenagers during the workshop?

Safety is our absolute priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective gloves, and overall suits to keep everyone safe and clean. Our instructors are professional artists who give a thorough safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can. We only use low-pressure cans that are easier for younger participants to control and manage safely.

Do the kids need to have previous artistic experience?

Not at all! Our summer camp activities are designed for all skill levels, from total beginners to those who already Have a sketchbook full of ideas. We start with the basics of can control and lines before moving on to more complex techniques. You will be amazed at what you can create in just one session with our guidance.

Do the participants get to take their artwork home?

Yes, they do! While we often practice on large communal walls or cellophane spans to learn techniques, every participant gets to create their own individual piece on a high-quality canvas or board. This means every camper has a professional-looking piece of street art to take home and hang on their bedroom wall as a souvenir.

What should the participants wear to the summer camp session?

Comfort is key! We recommend wearing old clothes and sneakers that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on—accidents can happen even with protective gear. Since we are often outdoors, please check the weather forecast and bring sunscreen, a hat, or a light jacket. We provide all the specialized painting equipment and safety gear.

Can you host the summer camp at our own location in Leipzig?

We are very flexible! While we have amazing partner locations near the Plagwitz district, we can also bring the summer camp experience to your specific youth club, school grounds, or community centre in Leipzig. As long as we have a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated area, we can set up our mobile graffiti station almost anywhere.

How long does a typical graffiti session last?

Our standard summer camp sessions usually run between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid introduction, sketching, practice, and the final masterpiece. For larger groups or multi-day camp programmes, we can extend the duration or spread the activities across several days to dive deeper into street art history and advanced techniques.

Τοπική κουλτούρα

Leipzig isn't just a city; it's a living gallery. From the legendary murals in Plagwitz to the alternative spirit of Connewitz, street art is woven into the very fabric of the city's identity. Our workshops tap into this local heritage, showing campers the difference between simple graffiti and the complex world of urban murals that Leipzig is famous for. We often host sessions near the old industrial sites that have been reclaimed by nature and art, providing an authentic atmosphere you won't find anywhere else. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know Leipzig is home to some of the largest legal graffiti walls in Saxony? The city officially supports urban art, which is why the local scene is so incredibly diverse and high-quality!
