What is the minimum age for participating in a youth graffiti project?

For our youth projects in Hamburg, we generally recommend a minimum age of 10 to 12 years. This ensures that participants have the physical strength to control the spray cans and the focus to follow safety instructions. However, we can adapt our workshops for slightly younger groups if requested. It’s all about creating an inclusive environment where every young person feels they can express themselves safely and creatively!

Is the spray paint safe for young people to use?

Safety is our top priority! We provide high-quality FFP3 respirators, protective gloves, and overall suits to keep everyone safe and clean. Our instructors are professional artists who give a comprehensive safety briefing before any cans are touched. We only use high-quality spray paint and ensure that the workshops take place in well-ventilated outdoor areas or legal graffiti zones across Hamburg.

Do the participants need to have previous artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the basics—how to hold a can, how to control the pressure, and how to create simple shapes. Our 'each one teach one' philosophy means our artists guide every participant at their own pace. By the end of the session, even those who thought they weren't 'artistic' will have created something they are proud of.

How much does a youth graffiti workshop in Hamburg cost?

Pricing typically ranges between €30 and €65 per person, but this varies based on the group size, the duration of the project, and the materials used (like canvas vs. wall). Because youth projects often have specific funding requirements or larger group sizes, we recommend using our online cost calculator or requesting a custom quote. Plus, you don't have to pay anything upfront—you only pay after the workshop!

What happens if it rains on the day of our Hamburg workshop?

While we love the Hamburg sunshine, the weather doesn't always play ball. Many of our local street art spots have sheltered areas. If the forecast looks truly terrible, we can often relocate to an indoor space or use canvases instead of walls. We also have backup artists on standby, so your event will never be cancelled due to staff illness. We’ve got you covered!

How long does a typical graffiti workshop session last?

Standard youth sessions usually last between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety intro, sketching, practicing techniques, and completing a final piece. For larger community projects or mural designs, we can also organize full-day or multi-day programmes. We’re flexible and can work around your youth club or school schedule to make it fit perfectly.

Can you host workshops in other German cities?

Absolutely! We love traveling across Germany. While Hamburg is a major hub for us, we regularly host workshops in Hannover, Berlin, Munich, and Cologne. If you're based in a smaller town near Hamburg, just let us know. Our artists are mobile and can bring the entire graffiti experience right to your local youth centre or community space.

Η εμπειρία

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next youth initiative in Hamburg? It’s a powerful tool for engagement that bridges the gap between play and professional skill-building. 🔥

Boosts self-esteem: Seeing a large-scale piece of art they created themselves gives young people a massive sense of achievement. 🏆
Promotes teamwork: Large murals require communication, planning, and cooperation—essential life skills!
Safe & legal: we teach the difference between vandalism and street art, focusing on legal expression and respect for the environment.
Stress relief: The physical act of spraying is incredibly therapeutic and a great outlet for pent-up energy. ✨
Professional mentors: Our artists aren't just talented; they are great role models who connect easily with younger generations.

Βήμα προς βήμα

Intro & inspiration: We start with a brief history of Hamburg’s street art scene to get the creative juices flowing.
Safety first: Everyone gets geared up with masks and gloves while we explain how to use the equipment responsibly.
Sketching the vision: Youth participants grab paper and pencils to map out their tags, pieces, or characters before hitting the wall.
The first spray: Under the guidance of our pros, participants learn 'can control'—practicing lines, dots, and fades.
Filling and fading: This is where the colour comes in! We teach how to fill shapes evenly and create cool gradients.
Outlining & highlights: The secret to "popping" graffiti is the sharp outline and the white highlights. We show you how it's done.
Final touches: Participants add their own style, drips, or backgrounds to make the artwork truly unique.
The big reveal: We take group photos of the finished masterpiece—a proud moment for every young artist involved!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Τοπική κουλτούρα

Hamburg is a legendary playground for street art, from the iconic murals of the Schanzenviertel to the vibrant walls of St. Pauli. By bringing a graffiti project to your youth group, you're connecting them to a living urban tradition that defines the spirit of the city. We often work at legal spots that celebrate Hamburg's "Freie und Hansestadt" (Free and Hanseatic) identity, encouraging kids to contribute to the city's visual DNA in a positive, legal way.

Fun fact: Hamburg is home to some of the oldest legal graffiti walls in Germany, and the city actually uses professional street art to help prevent illegal tagging while beautifying public spaces! ⚓
