Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Safety is our absolute number one priority. We use low-odour spray paint specifically designed for use in workshops, and every student is provided with a high-quality face mask, protective gloves, and a full-body apron. Our instructors are professional artists who have extensive experience working with primary-aged children, ensuring that everyone follows the safety rules while having a total blast. We make sure the environment is controlled and kid-friendly!

Do the students need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Most children in Cologne haven't touched a spray can before, and that’s perfectly fine. We start with the absolute basics, like how to hold the can and control the pressure. Our instructors guide them through every step, from simple lines to filling in shapes. By the end of the session, every child will have created something they can be proud of.

What should the children wear to the workshop?

We recommend that children wear old clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of 'character' on. While we provide full protective gear including overalls/aprons, spray paint is permanent and has a way of finding its way onto sleeves or trainers. Think of it as a creative 'uniform' for the day! It’s all part of the authentic street art experience here in Germany.

Are the spray cans environmentally friendly?

Sustainability is important to us. We use professional-grade cans from brands that focus on eco-friendly production where possible. We also teach the children about 'Legal Walls' in Cologne and the importance of respecting public property. Our workshop focuses on the artistic and positive side of street art, showing them that creativity can be expressed responsibly and beautifully within the community.

How long does a typical session last?

Standard primary school workshops typically last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, safety briefing, practice session, and the creation of the final artwork. For larger groups or school-wide projects, we can adapt the schedule to fit your school day perfectly. We are very flexible and can work around your specific Cologne school timetable.

Where in Cologne do the workshops take place?

We can host the workshop at your school if you have a suitable outdoor space (like a playground or a courtyard with good ventilation). Alternatively, we can help arrange a session at one of Cologne's vibrant legal graffiti locations. If the weather turns 'very German' and starts raining, we usually have backup plans or can reschedule to ensure the kids get the best possible experience.
