Is the spray paint safe for primary school children?

Safety is our number one priority! We use high-quality, low-odour spray paint specifically designed for use in workshops. Every primary school student is provided with a full protective suit, gloves, and a mask to ensure they stay clean and safe. Our professional artists are fully DBS-checked and have years of experience working with kids, ensuring a supervised environment where everyone can enjoy the creative process without any worries.

Can the children keep the artwork they create?

Absolutely! We offer flexible options where students can work on individual canvases to take home, or we can collaborate on a massive, vibrant mural on a school wall or large wooden boards. Whether it's a permanent piece of art for the playground or a personal masterpiece for their bedroom, we make sure every child has something to show for their hard work and new skills.

What kind of space do we need at our school?

Ideally, we work outdoors in a well-ventilated area like a school playground or a covered sports court. However, if the Manchester weather isn't playing ball, we can set up in a large, well-ventilated indoor space like a sports hall, using floor protection and specific low-pressure cans. We always have a backup plan to ensure the workshop goes ahead rain or shine!

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard primary school session usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, plenty of practice time, and the creation of the final artwork. For larger schools, we often run multiple sessions throughout the day so that every year group gets a chance to pick up a spray can and get creative.

What is the ideal age for a graffiti workshop?

We recommend our workshops for Key Stage 2 students (ages 7-11), as they have the hand strength to operate the spray cans effectively. However, we can adapt the session for younger Key Stage 1 children using alternative methods like paint markers or stencils. Our artists are experts at tailoring their teaching style to match the age and ability of the group.

Do we need to pay anything before the workshop starts?

No, you don't need to pay a penny upfront! We believe in the quality of our workshops, so we work on a 'pay after the session' basis. We'll send an invoice once the workshop is complete and everyone is happy with the results. This makes the booking process stress-free for school admin and PTA organisers across Manchester.

Who will be leading the graffiti workshop?

Our team consists of passionate graffiti artists who have spent years honing their craft on the streets and in studios. They aren't just great artists; they are fantastic educators who know how to inspire confidence in children. They bring a professional yet fun energy to every school, ensuring that the students learn authentic street art culture in a positive and constructive environment.

Helyi kultúra

Manchester is a city that breathes creativity, from the iconic bee murals to the ever-changing walls of the Northern Quarter and Ancoats. By bringing a graffiti workshop to your school, you're connecting your students with a massive part of their local Mancunian culture. We love teaching in a city with such a rich history of urban art and music! 🐝

Fun Fact: Did you know that Manchester's famous 'Bee' symbol represents the city's hard-working past during the Industrial Revolution? It's even a popular subject for local street artists! We often teach kids how to spray-paint their very own Manchester Bee as part of our local sessions.
