Is this workshop suitable for children and teenagers?

Absolutely! We welcome street artists of all ages, usually from 6 years old and up. The spray cans we use are easy to handle, and our instructors are fantastic at breaking down techniques into simple, manageable steps. It’s a brilliant way for kids and teens to build confidence while doing something totally different from their usual school holiday routine.

Is it safe to use spray cans during the workshop?

Don't worry, you're in safe hands! In Lyon, we use high-quality spray paint and provide everyone with protective overalls, gloves, and masks. Our artists give a thorough safety briefing before anyone touches a can. We prioritize a clean and controlled environment so the focus stays entirely on the fun and the art. It’s much safer than trying it on a random wall!

Do I need any prior art experience to join?

Not at all! Most of our school holiday participants have never touched a spray can before. Our Lyon based artists will guide you through everything, from drawing your first 'tag' to creating complex 'pieces'. We focus on the process and having a blast, so whether you're a budding Picasso or can't draw a stick figure, you'll leave with something you're proud of.

What materials are included in the workshop price?

We provide everything you need to become a street art pro for the day. This includes a wide range of professional spray paint colours, caps (the nozzles that control the spray), protective gear like masks and gloves, and the surfaces we’ll be painting on. Just make sure you wear comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on!

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

In Lyon, we have both indoor and outdoor options. If the weather is typically 'Lyonnais' (a bit rainy), we can move the session to one of our cool indoor partner spaces. We always have a backup plan so your holiday plans don't get ruined by a few clouds. We'll confirm the specific location details with you once you've booked your spot.

Can I take my graffiti artwork home with me?

Great question! Depending on the specific workshop package you choose, you might be working on a large collective mural or your own individual canvas. If you're painting on a canvas, you absolutely get to take it home to hang on your bedroom wall. For our larger wall murals, we make sure to take high-quality photos so you have a digital memory of your masterpiece.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Our school holiday workshops in Lyon usually last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, some practice time to get used to the cans, and then the main event where you create your final piece. It's the perfect length to keep everyone engaged and excited without getting tired out. Time flies when you're painting!

Helyi kultúra

Lyon isn't just known for its incredible food and the Fête des Lumières; it's a massive hub for street art culture! From the famous painted walls (murals) in the Croix-Rousse district to the hidden gems in the Perrache area, the city is a living gallery. Our workshops soak up this local vibe, often taking inspiration from the legendary 'murs peints' that Lyon is famous for.

Fun Fact: Lyon is home to one of the largest painted murals in Europe, the Fresque des Lyonnais, which covers a staggering 800 square metres! 🏙️

Árképzés
