Do I need any prior art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our Lyon street art festival workshops are designed for everyone, from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Our professional artists guide you through every step, starting with basic can control and moving up to complex layering. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can produce a piece of art you're proud of. It’s all about having fun and expressing yourself in a supportive, festival atmosphere.

What should I wear to the graffiti workshop?

We’ve got you covered. We provide high-quality, breathable overalls, gloves, and professional-grade masks to keep you clean and safe. However, spray paint can be a bit 'travel-friendly', so we always recommend wearing clothes and shoes that you wouldn't mind getting a tiny splash of colour on. Once you're suited up, you're ready to let the creativity flow without worrying about your outfit!

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We use low-pressure spray cans which are much easier to handle, and we provide all necessary safety equipment, including FFP2 or FFP3 masks and gloves. Our workshops usually take place in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially set-up festival zones. Plus, our artists are always on hand to ensure everyone is using the equipment correctly and safely throughout the session.

Can children join the workshop during the festival?

Absolutely! Graffiti is a fantastic way for kids to express their energy and creativity. We offer adapted workshops for younger participants using water-based paints or simplified techniques. For festival environments, it's a huge hit with families. We generally recommend a minimum age of 6 to 8 years old to ensure they can hold the spray cans comfortably, but we can tailor the experience for almost any age group.

Do I need to pay in advance?

In the spirit of Lyon's 'no stress' vibe, we don't require any upfront payments. You can book your spot or schedule your festival activation today, and payment is only handled after the workshop is complete. We believe in the quality of our experience and want you to feel 100% confident when booking with Graffitifun. Whether it's a small group or a massive festival crowd, we keep it simple.

What happens if it rains on the day?

Lyon's weather can be unpredictable, but the art never stops! If we're at a festival, we usually have marquee setups or covered areas ready to go. If the weather is truly uncooperative for an outdoor session, we have backup plans including indoor venues or rescheduling options. Because we have a large team of backup artists, we almost never have to cancel—we find a way to make the magic happen!

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Standard festival workshop sessions usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This gives you enough time to learn the basics, sketch your design, and complete a full-scale piece. For larger events where we have a 'walk-in' setup, we can also offer shorter 20-30 minute 'taster' sessions so more people can have a go throughout the day. We are fully flexible to fit your festival's schedule.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Helyi kultúra

Lyon is secretly one of Europe's greatest street art capitals. While tourists flock to the traboules, locals know the real magic is on the walls of the Croix-Rousse district, where the famous 'Mur des Canuts' stands as a testament to the city's mural tradition. The city’s history of silk-weaving has evolved into a modern tapestry of spray paint and bold textures.

Fun Fact: Lyon is home to some of the world's most famous "trompe-l'œil" murals—massive paintings that look like real 3D buildings and streets. It’s the perfect backdrop to get inspired for your own workshop! 🦁

During the summer months, Lyon's festivals come alive with music and art. We bring that same energy to our workshops, ensuring that the 'esprit Lyonnais'—a mix of sophisticated tradition and bold modernity—is reflected in every piece of art we create together.
