Do I need prior graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely not! This training is designed for educators of all artistic levels. Whether you are a dedicated art teacher or a primary school instructor with no spray paint experience, our professional artists will guide you through the basics. We focus on teaching you the techniques and the safety protocols so you can confidently lead a session yourself, regardless of your personal 'street cred' or prior drawing skills.

How long does a professional development session last?

The training typically lasts between 2.5 and 4 hours. This timeframe allows us to cover the history of the movement, master the technical handling of the cans, and complete a full collaborative mural. We find this duration is the 'sweet spot' for keeping energy high while ensuring you walk away with enough practical knowledge to facilitate your own future classroom projects safely and effectively.

What materials are included in the workshop price?

We provide everything! Your session includes premium low-pressure spray paint (easier to control), safety masks, gloves, protective overalls, and professional-grade caps (nozzles). We also provide the practice surfaces and design templates. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and a pair of comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of paint dust on. We handle the messy part!

Is the spray paint safe for use in a school environment?

Safety is our absolute priority. We use high-quality, low-odour paints and provide high-spec FFP2 or FFP3 respiratory masks to all participants. We also teach you how to set up a safe outdoor or well-ventilated workspace for your students. We cover 'can etiquette' to ensure nobody gets paint where they shouldn't, making sure your future school sessions are incident-free and professional.

Can I use this training to meet curriculum requirements?

Yes! While we focus on the art, we show you how to link graffiti to the curriculum. This includes history (from 1970s NYC to modern-day Montpellier), typography (lettering styles), chemistry (paint reactions), and social studies (community art vs. vandalism). We provide you with a conceptual framework that makes it easy to justify these creative sessions to school boards and parents alike.

Where in Montpellier do the training sessions take place?

We are very flexible! You can come to one of our partner locations in the city, or if your school has a suitable outdoor space or a well-ventilated hall, we can bring the entire 'Graffitifun mobile studio' to you. This is often a great way for staff to assess their own school grounds for future student projects while they learn the ropes themselves. Training on-site is a popular choice for team-building days!

Do you provide any certification after the training?

We certainly do. Upon completing the training, we can provide a certificate of participation that outlines the skills you have mastered. While this isn't a government teaching degree, it serves as a professional validation of your CPD (Continuing Professional Development) hours and proves you have been coached by professional artists in the safe handling of spray cans and street art pedagogy.

Helyi kultúra

Montpellier is a city that breathes creativity. From the famous trompe-l'œil murals in the Place Saint-Roch to the unexpected 'stuck binary' art hidden in the medieval alleyways of l’Écusson, the city is a living gallery. In Montpellier, street art isn't just decoration; it's part of the urban identity. Our training takes inspiration from this local vibe, showing you how the city's sunny, Mediterranean light interacts with bold spray-can pigments. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know Montpellier is home to "Le Quai du Verdanson"? This sunken canal is a legal graffiti spot where the walls change almost daily, acting as a massive, ever-evolving canvas for European artists!
