Do I need to be a skilled artist to join the teacher training?

Absolutely no prior experience is needed! Our artist-educators are experts at breaking down complex street art techniques into manageable, teachable steps. We start with the basics of spray control and safety before moving into letter structures and layering. The goal of this Stuttgart training is to build your confidence so you can effectively demonstrate these skills to your own students, regardless of your current artistic background.

What safety measures do you teach for school environments?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 masks, gloves, and protective suits for all participants. During the professional development session, we specifically cover how to set up a safe workspace in a school environment, how to manage ventilation, and how to supervise students using spray paint. You’ll leave the workshop with a comprehensive understanding of the health and safety protocols required for classroom graffiti projects.

Are materials included in the training package?

We provide everything you need to get creative! This includes a wide range of professional-grade spray cans, various caps (nozzles) for different effects, protective gear, and high-quality canvases or surfaces to practice on. We also provide educational handouts and digital resources that you can use when planning your own lessons back at school. All you need to bring is your enthusiasm and some clothes you don't mind getting a bit of paint on!

Can you help us integrate graffiti into other school subjects?

Yes! We believe that street art is a fantastic tool for exploring social issues, history, and typography. Part of our training includes a brainstorming session on how to link graffiti to the curriculum, such as exploring the Berlin Wall's history or teaching colour theory and 3D perspectives. We help you frame graffiti not just as an art form, but as a gateway to broader discussions on public space and identity.

What happens if it rains on the day of our Stuttgart workshop?

Stuttgart is known for its unpredictable weather, but the creativity never stops! We have access to several covered outdoor locations and well-ventilated indoor spaces throughout the city. If the weather looks particularly bad, we will coordinate with you to ensure the training takes place in a comfortable, dry environment. Our backup artist system also ensures that your training will never be cancelled due to staff illness.

How long does a typical professional development session last?

Our standard professional development sessions usually last between 2 and 3 hours. This allows enough time for the theoretical introduction, safety briefing, hands-on practice, and a final Q&A about classroom implementation. However, we can also offer extended half-day or full-day intensives if you want to dive deeper into advanced techniques or large-scale mural planning. We are flexible and can adapt the timing to fit your department's schedule.

Helyi kultúra

Stuttgart is a city that hides its creative soul in plain sight. While famous for its sleek cars and hills, the local street art scene is thriving, particularly around the Hall of Fame in Bad Cannstatt and the vibrant walls of the Nordbahnhof area. Our training draws inspiration from the local "Stuttgarter" style—a mix of clean lines and bold, experimental forms. 🥨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Stuttgart is home to some of the oldest legal graffiti walls in Germany? This long-standing tradition of supporting street art makes it the perfect place for teachers to learn how to channel student energy into legal, constructive, and incredible public art.
