GRAFFITI WORKSHOPS FOR YOUTH PROJECTS IN BIRMINGHAM
Empower Birmingham's youth with professional graffiti workshops. Creative, safe, and engaging street art experiences for youth projects. Pay after!

Are you looking for a way to spark creativity and build confidence in Birmingham’s young people? Our graffiti workshops for youth projects offer an immersive, hands-on experience that turns local teenagers into street artists for the day. At Graffitifun, we specialise in reaching out to diverse groups through the vibrant medium of urban art. Birmingham, with its rich history of industrial innovation and modern cultural hubs like Digbeth, provides the perfect backdrop for this creative exploration. Our professional artists don’t just teach you how to paint; they mentor the youth, showing them how to channel their energy into large-scale, colourful masterpieces. Whether you are running a community centre programme, a summer camp, or an outreach initiative, our workshops are designed to be inclusive, exciting, and completely memorable.

Opplevelsen
Choosing graffiti as a medium for youth engagement is a game-changer. It breaks down the barriers of traditional "fine art" and meets young people where they are. Here is why our Birmingham workshops are so effective:
- Instant Engagement: Graffiti is inherently "cool" and attracts even the most hard-to-reach young people who might find other activities boring.
- Team Building: Many of our projects involve creating a collaborative mural, requiring communication and shared vision.
- Positive Outlet: We provide a legal, constructive way to enjoy street art, reducing the likelihood of anti-social behaviour elsewhere.
- Professional Mentorship: Our artists are not just teachers; they are active members of the UK art scene who inspire through their own work.
- No Financial Risk: With our "pay after the workshop" policy, your youth organisation's budget is protected until we deliver.
- Flexible Delivery: We can set up in car parks, halls, or playgrounds across the city, from Solihull to Handsworth.

Steg for steg
- Introduction & History: We start by meeting the group and discussing the roots of graffiti culture and how it evolved into modern street art.
- Safety Briefing: Every participant gets kitted out with gloves, masks, and overalls while we explain the 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely.
- Can Control: Our artists demonstrate how to hold the can, use different caps, and control pressure to create thin lines, thick fades, and dots.
- Sketching Ideas: Participants grab paper and pens to brainstorm their designs, focusing on 'tags', 'throw-ups', or characters.
- Practice Session: Before hitting the main wall, the youth group practices their spray techniques on a secondary surface to build confidence.
- The Main Event: Working individually or as a team, the group begins their large-scale mural, applying the layers from background to foreground.
- Outlining & Detail: We teach the trick of the 'final outline' using high-contrast colours to make the artwork pop and look professional.
- Group Review: We wrap up by admiring the finished piece, taking group photos, and discussing what everyone learned during the session.

Lokal kultur
Gatekunst i Birmingham
Birmingham is a city that wears its art on its sleeve. From the iconic murals lining the streets of Digbeth to the hidden gems in the Jewellery Quarter, the "Brummie" street art scene is one of the most vibrant in the UK. Our workshops draw inspiration from this local landscape, often referencing the works found at the Custard Factory or the massive pieces visible from the Cross-City train line. We encourage our youth participants to look at their surroundings with fresh eyes, seeing the city not just as bricks and mortar, but as a giant canvas for positive expression. By engaging with Birmingham’s street art culture, young people feel a deeper connection to their local identity and the creative heritage of the West Midlands.
Priser
Our graffiti workshops are priced competitively to ensure accessibility for community groups and non-profits in the West Midlands.
