Is the paint safe for children to use?

Safety is our number one priority! We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits to keep those school uniforms clean. Our workshops are led by professional artists who are fully DBS checked and experienced in working with children. We use low-odour professional spray paint and conduct sessions in well-ventilated areas to ensure a safe, fun, and healthy environment for every budding artist. Raising a spray can has never been safer!

Do the kids need any previous art experience?

Absolutely! Our after-school sessions are perfect for beginners. Our instructors start with the basics, from how to hold the can and control pressure to creating clean lines and shapes. We guide the students step-by-step through the process, ensuring everyone feels confident. It’s not about being a 'great artist' from day one; it’s about the joy of creating something bold and colourful in a supportive, creative atmosphere. Everyone leaves with a masterpiece!

How much does a Sheffield after-school workshop cost?

The cost typically ranges between £25 and £55 per student, depending on the number of participants and the length of the programme. This includes all premium materials, safety gear, and the guidance of our professional artists. We believe in transparency, so there are no hidden fees or upfront payments required. To get an exact price tailored to your school's specific needs, simply reach out for a custom quote!

What should the students wear to the session?

While we love the grit of Sheffield's street art scene, we prefer to keep our clothes clean! We provide all participants with protective overalls and gloves. However, we always recommend that students wear 'work clothes' or older trainers they don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on. Spray paint is permanent, and while the suits cover most areas, a little accidental splash on a brand-new pair of white kicks is always a risk!

How long does a typical workshop last?

A standard after-school session usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This gives the children enough time to learn the basic techniques, practice their 'tag' on paper, and then complete a full-scale piece on a canvas or designated wall area. We can easily adapt the timing to fit your school’s specific timetable or extracurricular schedule. We make sure every minute is packed with creative energy and hands-on fun!

Can the students keep their artwork?

Yes, they do! If we are working on individual canvases or boards, the students get to take their unique creations home the very same day. It's a fantastic way for them to show off their new skills to family and friends. For larger collaborative murals created on school grounds, the artwork serves as a lasting legacy of their creativity, brightening up the school environment for years to come. It's art that leaves a mark!

What happens if it rains or an artist is sick?

We always have backup artists ready to step in to ensure your workshop goes ahead as planned. In the event of typical South Yorkshire rain, we can move the session to a covered outdoor area or a well-ventilated indoor space using water-based, low-odour paints specifically designed for indoor use. We are experts at adapting to the British weather so the creative flow never has to stop, no matter what it's doing outside!
