Is it safe for children to use spray paint?

Absolutely! We provide high-quality protective overalls and gloves for every student. While we use professional-grade spray paint, we take safety seriously. Our artists provide a full safety briefing before anyone touches a can. We recommend wearing old shoes just in case, but otherwise, we’ve got your clothes covered while you focus on being creative.

Do the students need any previous art experience?

No prior talent or experience is needed at all. Our Ghent workshops are designed to take students from 'zero to hero' in a single session. Our professional artists break down complex techniques into simple, easy-to-follow steps. Whether they are naturally artistic or have never held a pen, every student will leave with something they are proud of.

How long does a typical after-school workshop last?

Usually, a standard after-school session lasts between 1.5 and 2 hours. This gives us enough time for the introduction, sketching, practice, and the final masterpiece without it feeling rushed. However, we are flexible! If your school schedule requires a shorter 60-minute burst or a longer half-day intensive, we can easily adapt the timing to fit.

What materials do we need to provide?

We bring everything! Graffitifun provides all the professional spray cans (in a rainbow of colours), protective gear, caps, and the 'canvases' (which can be boards, a mobile wall, or even individual canvases for students to take home). All you need to provide is an outdoor or well-ventilated space and a group of excited students ready to learn.

How far in advance should we book?

Our workshops are very popular in the Ghent area, so we recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance to secure your preferred date. However, thanks to our large network of backup artists, we can often accommodate last-minute requests. If you have a sudden gap in your after-school programme, give us a shout and we’ll do our best!

Do we need to pay in advance?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. We don't require any upfront payment to secure your booking. You only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed and everyone has had a blast. This makes the administrative process much easier for schools and parent-teacher associations in Belgium.

What happens if it rains on the day?

If the weather in Ghent takes a turn for the worse, we have several options. We can use heavy-duty gazebos for light rain, or if you have a well-ventilated indoor space like a sports hall or large garage, we can move the session there using low-odour paints. We always check the forecast and coordinate with you the day before.

Krok za krokom

Intro & inspiration: We start with a high-energy intro about the history of graffiti and a look at some local Ghent street art for inspiration.
Safety first: Every student gets kitted out in protective gear and learns the 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely and respectfully.
Mastering the nozzle: Students learn 'can control'—practising how to make thin lines, fat drips, and smooth gradients on practice boards.
Sketching the vision: Before hitting the wall, everyone grabs a marker to sketch out their tags or characters, planning their colour schemes.
Filling and fading: This is where the magic happens! Students start filling in their designs, learning how to blend colours like pros.
First outlines: Our artists guide students through the tricky process of adding clean outlines to make their art 'pop' off the surface.
Final highlights: Adding those 'shiny' white spots and 3D shadows that give the graffiti its professional, finished look.
The big reveal: We take a group photo with the finished masterpiece—a proud moment for every young artist involved!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Miestna kultúra

Ghent is a city that breathes creativity, and we love bringing that spirit into the school environment. From the legendary 'Graffiti Street' (Werregarenstraatje) to the massive international murals found in the outskirts, Ghent is one of Europe's premier street art hubs. Our workshops connect students to this local heritage, teaching them the difference between vandalism and the sophisticated urban art that makes their city famous.

Fun Fact: Ghent is home to ROA, one of the world's most famous street artists, known for his giant black-and-white animals. You might even see some of his work on your way to school!

Ceny

Our after-school sessions are surprisingly affordable, bringing professional art education to everyone in Ghent. Prices for our workshops generally range from €25 to €55 per person, depending on the number of participants and the specific setup you need.

Because every school and youth group is different, we prefer to give you a personal quote that fits your budget perfectly. Plus, with our "pay after the workshop" guarantee, there's zero risk!
