Why is a graffiti workshop good for a communion party?

A graffiti workshop is a fantastic way to celebrate a First Holy Communion because it bridges the gap between traditional ceremony and modern fun. It keeps the kids (and adults!) fully engaged and active, ensuring the celebration is memorable for years to come. Plus, everyone gets to take home a physical piece of art they created themselves, which serves as a wonderful memento of the special day. It’s inclusive, creative, and totally unique!

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything you need for a successful street art session. This includes high-quality spray paint in a vibrant array of colours, protective gear like ponchos, masks, and gloves, and the canvases or boards for painting. Our professional artists lead the entire session, offering guidance and tips. You just need to provide the space (indoor or outdoor) and enthusiastic participants ready to get their hands on some spray cans!

Is it safe for children to use spray paint?

Safety is our absolute priority, especially at family events. We use low-pressure spray cans that are easier for kids to control and provide professional-grade masks and protective clothing. Our artists are highly experienced in managing groups of children and ensuring the environment remains safe and controlled. We also require a well-ventilated space for the activity. Our materials are non-toxic and compliant with safety standards, so you can relax and enjoy.

How long does a typical session last?

We find that a duration of 1.5 to 2 hours is the 'sweet spot' for communion parties. This gives the children enough time to learn the basic techniques, practice their tags, and complete a final masterpiece without losing focus. We can adjust the timing to fit your party schedule—whether you want a quick high-energy activity or a more relaxed, long-form creative session. Just let us know your preference!

Do the kids need to be good at drawing?

No artistic talent is required! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, from total beginners to budding Picassos. Our artists use a step-by-step approach that makes it easy for everyone to create something they are proud of. We focus on the joy of creation rather than technical perfection. You’ll be amazed at the professional-looking results the kids achieve in just a couple of hours under our expert guidance.

What should the participants wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little paint on. While we provide protective ponchos and gloves, graffiti can occasionally be a bit messy, and spray paint is permanent! It’s best to avoid your Sunday best for the actual painting part of the day. Many parents have the kids change into 'art outfits' after the formal communion ceremony so they can fully dive into the creative experience.

Can we hold the workshop indoors?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our flexibility. We can set up outdoors in a garden or park, or indoors if the venue is well-ventilated and floor protection is laid down. If the weather in Leeds takes a turn (which we know it can!), we have backup plans to ensure the party goes on. We can bring mobile graffiti walls to almost any location that has enough space for your group.

How do I book and when do I pay?

Booking is simple and stress-free! You can use our online cost calculator for an instant estimate, or send us a request for a custom quote. Once the details are agreed upon, we secure your date. The best part? There is no upfront payment required. You only pay after the workshop is completed, ensuring you are 100% satisfied with the experience. We also have backup artists available so your event is never cancelled.

Krok za krokom

Intro and safety: Our artist meets the group in Leeds, introduces the world of street art, and goes over the essential safety rules for using spray cans.
Learning the basics: Kids learn how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create different line widths and effects on practice boards. ✨
Sketching the design: Participants brainstorm their ideas and sketch out their designs or 'tags' on paper before moving to the main canvas.
Background creation: Time to get colourful! Everyone starts by applying vibrant background layers to their work using various spraying techniques.
Outline and fill: The artists guide the kids in filling in their letters and shapes, adding depth and personality to their unique pieces of art. 🎨
Adding details: This is where the magic happens! We add highlights, shadows, and 'splatter' effects to make the graffiti pop and look professional.
The finishing touch: Participants add their final flourishes and clean up the edges for a polished look they can be proud of.
Group photo and exhibition: We finish with a grand reveal of all the artwork and a fun group photo to document the creative celebration. 📸
