Is the graffiti workshop safe for secondary school students?

Absolutely! Safety is our top priority in every Leipzig workshop. We provide high-quality protective gear, including FFP2/FFP3 respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits to keep students and their clothes safe. Our professional artists conduct a thorough safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can. We use low-pressure paint which is easier for beginners to control, ensuring a secure and enjoyable creative environment for all schools.

How long does a standard workshop session last?

Typically, our secondary school workshops in Leipzig last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a solid introduction to street art history, a practice session on our mobile walls, and the creation of a final collaborative masterpiece. If your school schedule is tight, we can adjust the timing to fit a double lesson or extend it for a full project day experience.

Do we need to provide any materials?

We provide everything! Your school doesn't need to worry about a thing. We bring professional spray cans in a huge range of colours, protective gear for every student, caps (nozzles), and the surfaces to paint on. We can set up mobile wooden walls at your school grounds or host you at a legal street art spot in Leipzig. Just make sure the students wear old shoes!

Do the students need any prior artistic experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our artists are expert teachers who break down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. We start with basic lines and fades before moving on to 'pieces' or tags. We find that even students who claim they 'can't draw' are often the ones most surprised by the professional-looking results they achieve by the end.

What is the minimum and maximum group size?

We are very flexible. Whether you have a small art club of 15 students or a whole year group of 100+, we can accommodate you. For larger groups, we bring in additional professional artists from our backup pool to ensure every student gets personal guidance and support. We maintain a healthy student-to-artist ratio so that no one feels left behind in the creative process.

What happens if an artist is unavailable on the day?

In the rare event that an artist falls ill, we have a reliable network of backup professionals ready to step in. We understand that school trips and project days involve a lot of planning, so we guarantee that your workshop will go ahead as scheduled. You won't be left hanging; we take our commitment to Leipzig schools very seriously.

Is there a specific age limit for secondary school groups?

We generally recommend these workshops for students aged 12 and up (Year 7 and above). At this age, students have the physical strength to use the spray cans effectively and the maturity to follow safety instructions while exploring the social and historical contexts of street art. For younger groups, we offer specially adapted programmes that focus more on stencil work and basic colour play.

Leipzig is a city that breathes creativity, from the industrial-turned-artistic hub of the Spinnerei to the colourful walls of Connewitz. Street art is woven into the DNA of the city, making it the perfect backdrop for a secondary school graffiti experience. We celebrate this local heritage by showing students how graffiti has helped shape Leipzig's modern identity.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Leipzig is home to some of the longest legal graffiti walls in Germany? The city has a long-standing tradition of supporting street artists, which is why the 'urban gallery' vibe is so strong here! ✨
