How long does a typical graffiti workshop last for secondary students?

Our secondary school workshops in Stuttgart typically last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives students enough time to learn the basic techniques, practice their 'tagging' and 'throwing', and then execute a larger, collaborative piece of art. We can also adapt the schedule to fit within specific double-period lessons or full school activity days if required. The goal is to ensure nobody feels rushed while keeping the energy levels high throughout!

Is the workshop safe for teenagers?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 respiratory masks, protective gloves, and disposable overalls to keep everyone safe and clean. We use low-odour professional spray paint specifically designed for ease of use. Our instructors are experienced in managing groups of young people, ensuring that the 'illegal' aura of graffiti is channelled into a safe, legal, and highly supervised creative environment. Everyone leaves with great memories and clean clothes!

Where in Stuttgart do the workshops take place?

Most of our Stuttgart workshops take place at legal graffiti walls across the city, such as the famous Hall of Fame under the bridge near Bad Cannstatt. This provides an authentic 'street' experience. However, if your school has a suitable outdoor area or a wall you'd like to permanently decorate, we can come to you! We provide all the necessary protection for the surrounding area to ensure only the intended surface gets painted.

What are the costs involved for a school group?

Pricing for secondary schools in Stuttgart usually falls between €30 and €65 per student. The final cost depends on the number of participants, the duration of the session, and whether we are painting on a public wall or a mobile canvas setup. Because we believe in accessibility for schools, we offer tiered pricing for larger year groups. Contact us for a bespoke quote tailored to your school's budget.

Do the students need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels. Our professional artists lead the students through a step-by-step process, starting with simple lines and shapes before moving on to more complex letter forms. We find that even the 'least artistic' students often discover a hidden talent for graffiti because it’s so different from traditional art classes. It’s all about confidence, expression, and having a great time together.

What are the educational benefits of a graffiti workshop?

Graffiti is a fantastic tool for secondary education. It encourages teamwork, boosts self-esteem, and provides a unique outlet for self-expression during the often-challenging teenage years. It also allows for discussions about the history of urban art, the difference between vandalism and street art, and the legalities of public spaces. In Stuttgart, a city with a rich urban culture, it connects students to their local environment in a vibrant, tactile way.
