Do I need any prior art experience to join?

Absolutely not! Our Coimbra pop-up events are designed for everyone, from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Our professional artists will guide you through every step, starting with basic spray can control and move on to layering and detail work. You will be amazed at what you can create in just a couple of hours with the right guidance and a bit of 'can-do' attitude. We provide all the inspiration you need.

What should I wear to the graffiti workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little messy. While we provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and masks, a stray drop of paint can sometimes find its way onto your shoes or sleeves. Think 'casual and practical.' If you are joining us for a pop-up event in the city centre, just dress for the weather and we will handle the rest of the protection for you!

Is it safe? What protective gear is provided?

The safety of our participants is our number one priority. We provide professional-grade protective gear, including FFP2 or FFP3 masks to filter out fumes, disposable overalls, and gloves. Our workshops are typically held in well-ventilated outdoor spaces or large, open indoor environments. Our instructors also give a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone touches a spray can to ensure a fun, hazard-free experience for the whole group.

How long does a typical pop-up workshop last?

Our pop-up events usually last between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time for a proper introduction, technique practice, and the creation of your final masterpiece. We find this is the 'sweet spot' where you have enough time to get into the flow without getting too tired. If you have a specific time constraint for your event in Coimbra, we can often adjust the schedule to fit your needs.

Can I take my artwork home with me?

Yes, you can! For many of our pop-up formats, we work on individual canvases or boards that you can take home once the paint is dry. It is a fantastic souvenir of your creative day in Coimbra. For larger collaborative murals, we take high-resolution photos so everyone has a digital memory of the collective work. We also offer 'bag tagging' where you can spray your design directly onto a tote bag!

What is the minimum and maximum group size?

Our pop-up workshops are very flexible! We can accommodate small groups of 10 people or large scale events with over 100 participants. For very large groups, we bring in extra artists to ensure everyone gets personal attention and guidance. Whether it's a small gathering at a local Coimbra cafe or a major brand activation in a public square, we have the staff and equipment to scale up.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

Coimbra's weather is usually lovely, but we always have a plan B! If we are planning an outdoor pop-up and rain is forecast, we can either move to a covered outdoor location or take the event indoors to one of our partner venues. We also have backup artists on call, so your event will never be cancelled due to staff illness. You can book with total confidence knowing the paint will flow rain or shine!

Can control 101: Learn the basics of nozzle pressure, distance, and hand speed to master the spray can.
Outline your vision: Transfer your sketch to the canvas or wall using light 'ghost lines' to guide your mural.
Fill it with colour: This is where the magic happens! Use our huge range of professional paints to bring your piece to life.
Cutting and edging: Learn the 'pro' tricks of cleaning up lines and adding those crisp edges that make graffiti pop.
The final details: Add highlights, 3D effects, and your personal 'tag' to finish the masterpiece.
Group gallery show: We step back, admire the collective work, and snap some epic photos for your socials!

Místní kultura

Coimbra is a city of layers, where medieval walls meet the bold expression of a modern student population. While tourists flock to the Biblioteca Joanina, the real pulse of the city can be found in the street art tucked away in the Baixa district and near the Quebra Costas. Our pop-up events tap into this academic yet rebellious spirit, offering a creative outlet in the heart of central Portugal. 🇵🇹

Fun Fact: Did you know that Coimbra is home to several legal street art walls? The city treats graffiti as a dialogue between its historical past and its youthful future, making it the perfect backdrop for your own creative explosion! 🏆
