Do we need any previous art experience to participate?

Absolutely! Most participants in our Ghent university workshops have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists start with the absolute basics, from how to hold the can to mastering pressure control. We provide a safe, supportive environment where 'mistakes' are just part of the creative process. You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll go from a nervous first spray to creating a piece you're proud of.

How long does a typical graffiti workshop last?

Standard university workshops usually run between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives your group enough time to learn the techniques, sketch out ideas, and complete a full-scale mural or individual canvases. If you have a specific schedule or a massive society event, we can adjust the timing to fit your itinerary perfectly. Just let us know your constraints when you book your session!

Is it safe, and what protective gear is provided?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective gloves, and disposable overalls to keep your clothes clean. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially equipped indoor spaces. Our artists are trained in safety protocols and will supervise the group throughout the entire session to ensure everyone has a fun, risk-free experience while exploring their creativity.

Can you host the workshop on our university campus?

We are incredibly flexible! We can host the workshop at one of Ghent's legal graffiti zones, like the famous Werregarenstraatje, or we can bring the entire setup to your campus or a private venue. We use mobile graffiti walls or canvases, so as long as we have a bit of outdoor space or a very well-ventilated area, we can turn almost any spot into a street art studio.

What should students wear to the session?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. While we provide full protective overalls, graffiti can be a messy business and stray mist happens! Think 'casual DIY' vibes. Avoid your brand-new designer trainers or your favourite hoodie just in case. We’ll handle the rest of the supplies like cans and caps.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

Ghent's weather can be unpredictable, but we've got you covered. If the forecast looks rainy, we can often move the workshop to a sheltered outdoor area or an indoor location using low-odour water-based sprays. Because we have a large team and backup artists available, we rarely have to cancel. We’ll coordinate with your society leads to ensure the 'Plan B' is just as exciting as 'Plan A'.

How much does a university workshop cost?

The price usually ranges between €25 and €55 per person, but it really depends on your group size and the specific setup you want. Larger university societies or faculty groups often benefit from better per-head rates. There's no upfront payment required — you simply pay after the workshop is done. Místní kultura

Ghent is a dreamland for street art lovers. From the iconic 'Graffiti Street' (Werregarenstraatje) to the massive murals tucked away in the industrial docks, the city embraces the spray can like nowhere else in Belgium. It’s the perfect backdrop for a university outing. Did you know Ghent actually has a 'gentle' approach to street art, seeing it as a vital part of the city's cultural soul? 🎨

Fun Fact: Ghent's famous Werregarenstraatje is a 'tolerance zone' where the art is constantly changing. It’s like a living, breathing social media feed made of paint! 🇧🇪

Our workshops tap into this local spirit, often taking place near these legendary spots or bringing that same rebellious, creative energy directly to your campus or student housing area. We don't just teach you how to paint; we connect you with Ghent's unique urban heritage.
