Is the graffiti workshop safe for school students?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls. Our workshops take place in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially designated zones. Our professional artists are trained to supervise students closely, ensuring that everyone uses the spray cans correctly and follows all safety protocols. We make sure the environment is controlled, creative, and completely secure for all age groups.

Do students need any previous art experience?

No prior artistic skill is needed at all! Our workshops are designed for everyone, from those who can't draw a straight line to budding young Rembrandts. We focus on the process of creation and teamwork rather than technical perfection. Our artists guide the students through every step, from basic lines to complex fills, ensuring every student walks away feeling proud of what they have achieved.

How long does a typical workshop last?

A standard school workshop usually lasts between 1.5 to 3 hours. This includes the introductory talk, the design phase, and the hands-on spraying session. However, we are very flexible! If you have a specific school timetable to stick to or want a full-day intensive art project, we can easily adapt the duration to fit your educational goals and logistics.

What materials are included in the price?

We provide everything! Your booking includes all the premium spray paint, protective clothing (masks, gloves, and suits), and the surfaces to paint on—whether that’s a large temporary wall or individual canvases for students to keep. You don’t need to worry about a thing; just make sure the students wear old clothes and comfortable shoes, and we handle the rest of the setup.

What is the maximum group size for a school booking?

We can work with almost any group size! For schools, we often handle entire year groups by rotating students or setting up multiple painting stations. To ensure everyone gets quality time with the artists and enough spray cans, we usually recommend a teacher-to-student ratio that allows for plenty of hands-on guidance. Just let us know your numbers, and we will scale the team accordingly.

Can we choose a specific theme for the artwork?

Our Palermo school workshops can be tailored to match your specific curriculum! Whether you want to focus on local Sicilian history, environmental awareness, or collaborative teamwork, we can weave these themes into the design phase. It’s a fantastic way to make learning visual and interactive, giving students a sense of ownership over the topics they are studying in the classroom.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Even in sunny Palermo, we have to be prepared for the weather! If the forecast looks bad, we usually look for a sheltered outdoor spot or can arrange for the workshop to move to an indoor space with adequate ventilation using water-based, low-odour paints. Because we have multiple backup artists available, we are very reliable and will always work with you to find the best solution.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your students? It’s more than just painting on walls—it’s about building confidence and community. Here’s why it’s a total game-changer:

Unleashes hidden talent: Students who struggle with traditional academics often shine when they get a spray can in their hand. It’s a level playing field for everyone! 🌟
Encourages teamwork: Creating a large-scale mural requires communication, planning, and supporting one another. It's the ultimate team-building exercise. 🤝
Legal & responsible: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, promoting a respectful approach to public spaces and artistic expression. 👮
Physical & active: Get the kids moving! Spraying a mural is a physical process that gets students away from screens and into the fresh air. 💪
Professional guidance: Our artists aren't just talented; they are mentors who love sharing their passion and inspiring the next generation of creatives. 🎤

Step by step

Intro and safety briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy intro, explaining the history of street art and showing the kids how to stay safe with their gear.
Brainstorming the concept: Students work together to sketch out ideas based on your school’s chosen theme or local Palermo inspiration.
The tag creator trial: Before touching a can, we use visual aids to help students understand letter structure and "flow".
First lines: Professional artists demonstrate how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create basic shapes on the wall.
Filling in the blanks: The fun part! Students start filling their designs with vibrant colours, learning blending and fading techniques.
Adding the outline: We show them how to make their art "pop" by adding sharp outlines and highlights.
Final touches and cleanup: Students add the finishing details and stand back to admire their massive collaborative masterpiece.
Reflecting and debriefing: A quick group discussion about what they learned, followed by a celebratory photo session with the final artwork!

Local culture

Palermo is a city where every corner tells a story, from the weathered stones of the Kalsa district to the modern vibrancy of the Borgo Vecchio murals. It’s a place where tradition meets rebellion, making it the perfect backdrop for a street art revolution! We draw inspiration from the city's unique "Panormus" spirit—diverse, resilient, and incredibly colourful.

Fun Palermo Fact: Did you know that the street art in Palermo's Ballarò market district was largely created to revitalise the neighbourhood and celebrate its multicultural heart? It’s a real-world example of how art can change a community!

During our workshops, we encourage students to look at their city with fresh eyes, finding beauty in the urban landscape and understanding how they can contribute to it positively and legally. Whether we are inspired by Sicilian puppets or the deep blues of the Tyrrhenian Sea, your students will feel more connected to their local identity through every spray can they use.

Pricing

Our school workshops are affordably priced to ensure as many students as possible can join the fun. Costs generally range between €25 and €55 per student.

Because every school has different needs—whether it's a massive mural project or a small classroom activity—we provide bespoke pricing for every booking. Factors like group size, duration, and the type of surface used will influence the final price.

No upfront payment required! You only pay after the workshop is successfully completed, keeping things stress-free for your school's finance department.
