Helsinki street art festival & graffiti workshops
Ready to add a splash of colour to the Finnish capital? Our Helsinki street art festival workshops bring the raw energy of urban creativity right to your doorstep. Whether you are looking to spice up a local neighbourhood event or add an interactive edge to a massive summer bash, our professional artists are here to guide you through the thrill of the spray can. Helsinki has a rich, evolving relationship with street art, and there is no better way to celebrate it than by getting your hands dirty (metaphorically—we provide gloves!) and creating something spectacular. From the trendy streets of Kallio to the heart of Senate Square, we bring the workshop to you. No experience? No problem. We turn "I can't draw" into "I just painted a masterpiece" in just one afternoon. Let's get creative!

Do I need any previous art experience to participate?
Absolutely! Most of our festival participants have never held a spray can before. Our professional artists start with the basics, teaching you how to control the nozzle, manage pressure, and create clean lines. We provide a safe, encouraging environment where 'mistakes' are just part of the creative process. You'll be amazed at what you can create in just one session under our guidance.
What safety gear do you provide?
We take safety seriously. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, protective gloves, and disposable ponchos to keep your clothes clean. We use professional-grade spray paint and conduct our workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas or dedicated festival zones. Our instructors provide a full safety briefing before anyone touches a can, ensuring a fun and hazard-free experience for everyone involved.
What happens if it rains during the festival?
Helsinki weather can be unpredictable, but the fun doesn't have to stop! For minor drizzle, we can often work under gazebos or tents. If the weather is truly 'Sisu-testing' (heavy rain or storms), we usually coordinate with festival organisers to move to a sheltered area or reschedule. We always have backup plans to ensure your street art experience isn't washed away.
How long does a typical workshop session last?
Our festival workshops are highly flexible. A standard introductory session usually lasts between 90 minutes and 2 hours. However, for large-scale public festivals, we often run 'drop-in' style sessions where you can contribute to a communal mural for 20-30 minutes, or stay longer for a deep-dive masterclass. We tailor the timing to fit the festival's specific schedule.
Is this activity suitable for children?
We welcome street artists of all ages! For our festival workshops, we generally recommend a minimum age of 6 or 7 to ensure they can hang onto the spray cans properly. For the younger kids, we use water-based paints or specialized low-pressure cans. It’s a fantastic way for families to bond over a shared creative project in the heart of Helsinki.
What if the artist is sick on the day?
We pride ourselves on reliability. Unlike solo freelancers, Graffitifun has a deep roster of professional artists across Finland. We always have backup artists on standby. If your primary lead artist falls ill or has an emergency, we dispatch a replacement immediately. Your festival booking is secure with us—we have never cancelled a workshop due to artist unavailability.
Are materials like paint and masks included in the price?
Everything is included! Your booking fee covers the professional artist's time, all spray paint (a wide variety of vibrant colours), caps/nozzles, gloves, masks, ponchos, and the surfaces we paint on (whether that's a temporary wall or individual canvases). There are no hidden costs or 'material fees' added at the end. You just bring your creative energy and we handle the rest!
