Frequently asked questions

Do I need any previous art experience to join?

Absolutely not! Our Malmö street art festival workshops are designed for everyone, from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Our professional artists will guide you through the basics, starting with how to hold the spray can and ending with your own masterpiece. It’s all about having fun, expressing yourself, and trying something new in a supportive, high-energy environment. You'll be amazed at what you can create in just one session!

What should I wear to the graffiti workshop?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little bit of paint on. While we provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and masks, spray paint can sometimes find a way onto your shoes or sleeves if you get really into the groove! Think 'festival casual'—comfortable enough to move around freely while you're busy creating your street art mural. Solid, closed-toe shoes are always a smart choice for safety.

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our top priority. We provide all participants with professional-grade protective gear, including FFP2 or FFP3 masks to filter out fumes, disposable gloves, and full-body overalls. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or dedicated festival zones. Our instructors are also trained to ensure everyone uses the spray cans correctly to avoid any accidents, making this a safe and enjoyable activity for all ages.

What happens if it rains during the Malmö festival?

We follow a 'no rain, no pain' policy! Most of our festival setups use covered areas or mobile graffiti walls that can be shielded. If the Swedish weather really decides to turn against us with heavy storms, we have backup plans including indoor alternatives or rescheduling options. However, a little drizzle won't stop the creativity—we usually keep the music pumping and the paint flowing regardless of the clouds!

How long does a typical workshop session last?

Standard festival workshops usually last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This gives you enough time to learn the spray techniques, sketch out your ideas on the wall, and complete a full-colour piece. For larger festival activations, we can also offer 'drop-in' style sessions that are shorter, or full-day collaborative mural projects where everyone adds a small piece to a massive community artwork over many hours.

Can I take my artwork home with me?

Yes! One of the best parts of our Malmö workshops is that you get to keep what you create. For festival sessions, we often work on high-quality canvases or wooden panels that you can take home once the paint has dried. If we are working on a massive communal wall, we make sure to take professional photos of you with your work so you can show off your street art skills on social media.

How far in advance should I book?

Our street art festival workshops are incredibly popular, so we recommend booking at least 2 to 4 weeks in advance, especially during the busy summer season in Skåne. However, because we have a large team of backup artists, we can often accommodate last-minute requests. If you have a specific date in mind for your brand activation or private festival group, get in touch today to lock it in!
