How it works
- Introduction & History: Our artist meets the group in Rotterdam and dives into the cool history of street art and the 'do's and don'ts' of the scene.
- Safety Briefing: Everyone gets geared up in protective overalls and masks. We explain how to handle the cans safely.
- Sketching the Concept: Students grab markers and paper to brainstorm their 'tag' or a collective mural design.
- First Sprays: We head to the wall or boards. Students learn 'can control'—how to make lines, dots, and fades.
- Filling & Colouring: Time to go big! The students start filling in their designs with vibrant colours.
- Outlining & Detailing: The 'pro' secret! We show them how to add sharp outlines and highlights to make the art pop. 🎨
- The Masterpiece Reveal: The group steps back to admire their massive, colourful creation together.
- Cleanup & Wrap-up: We pack up the gear, and the students can take their individual artworks home or display the mural at school.

Frequently asked questions
Is the graffiti workshop safe for school students?
Absolutely! We prioritise the safety of all students and staff. We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and professional FFP2 or FFP3 masks to ensure no one breathes in fumes. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor areas or dedicated graffiti zones. Our instructors are experienced in managing large groups of young people, ensuring everyone follows the safety guidelines while having a blast. Our mission is to keep things fun and secure for everyone involved.
How long does a typical school workshop last?
A standard school workshop usually lasts between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This includes the initial introduction, safety briefing, technique practice, and the final creation of the masterpiece. We can also adjust the timing to fit into your school’s specific timetable, whether you need a shorter 'taster' session or an intensive full-day art programme. We are flexible and happy to work around your educational schedule to make it seamless.
Where in Rotterdam do the workshops take place?
Ideally, we host these sessions at legal graffiti walls or large outdoor paved areas on school grounds (with permission!). Rotterdam has some fantastic dedicated spots like the Hall of Fame. If outdoors isn't an option, we can discuss using large, well-ventilated indoor spaces with protective floor coverings. We always bring plenty of plastic sheeting to ensure the school property stays clean—except for the canvases or boards we are actually painting!
What is the minimum age for a graffiti workshop?
We typically recommend our workshops for students aged 10 and up (primary school leavers and secondary students). This is because handling the spray cans requires a certain amount of finger strength and the ability to follow safety instructions. However, for younger children, we can adapt the workshop using paint markers or street art stencils. No matter the age, we ensure the level of complexity matches the students' motor skills and creative development.
Do we need to provide any materials?
We provide everything! Your school doesn't need to worry about a thing. We bring the professional spray paint cans in a huge variety of colours, protective clothing (overalls), gloves, masks, and the "canvas" (which could be large wooden panels, individual canvases, or even a designated wall). We also bring caps (nozzles) and all the cleaning supplies. Just make sure the students wear old clothes and shoes—just in case!
Can the workshop be linked to our school curriculum?
Yes, of course! While the workshop is about fun and creativity, it is also highly educational. Students learn about the history of street art, the evolution from 'tagging' to 'murals', and the importance of legal vs. illegal art. It’s a great way to talk about social responsibility, urban culture, and self-expression. Many schools use our workshops as a practical component of their 'Art & Design' or 'Cultural Education' curriculum requirements.
What happens if we have a very large group of students?
We are very flexible! We can accommodate small classes or entire year groups. For very large groups, we simply bring more professional artists to ensure every student gets enough personal guidance and attention. Our artists are used to working with diverse group sizes and can manage the flow of the session to keep everyone engaged. Just let us know your student numbers, and we will scale the team accordingly.
What is your policy on cancellations or scheduling issues?
We understand that school budgets and plans can change. That’s why we offer a 'no upfront payment' policy—you pay only after the workshop has been successfully completed. We also have a large network of backup artists. If an instructor falls ill, we have a 'no-cancellation guarantee' because we can almost always send a replacement artist from our professional team. Your school event is safe with us!
