Do the kids need any previous drawing or painting experience?

Absolutely! No prior artistic skills are required for our Cologne youth workshops. Our professional artists are experts at breaking down complex techniques into simple, manageable steps. We focus on building confidence and having fun, ensuring every participant leaves with a piece of art they are proud of and a new-found sense of creative achievement.

How do you ensure the safety of the participants during the workshop?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective suits to keep everyone safe and clean. Our workshops take place in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially designated legal graffiti zones in Cologne. Furthermore, our instructors are experienced in managing groups and ensuring all equipment is used responsibly and safely.

What should the participants wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing old clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a bit of paint on. While we provide full protective gear including overalls, graffiti paint has a way of finding its way onto sleeves or trainers! It's better to be safe than sorry, so leave the brand-new designer gear at home for this creative session.

How long does a typical graffiti workshop for youth projects last?

Our standard youth projects in Cologne typically last between 1.5 and 3 hours. This provides enough time for a safety briefing, an introduction to the history of street art, technique practice, and the creation of a final masterpiece. We can also adjust the duration to fit into a specific school schedule or community centre event if required.

Where in Cologne do the workshops take place?

Cologne has several fantastic legal graffiti spots, such as the famous Hall of Fame at the Geldernstraße/Parkgürtel or areas in Ehrenfeld. We usually host our workshops at these vibrant, urban locations to give the participants an authentic experience. If you have a specific private venue or school yard with permission, we can also bring the workshop directly to you!

What is the minimum age for participating in a youth graffiti project?

We generally recommend our graffiti workshops for children aged 8 and up. At this age, they usually have the hand strength and coordination needed to operate the spray cans effectively and safely. For teenagers, the workshops are incredibly popular as they provide a cool, edgy outlet for self-expression that traditional art classes might lack.

Can you accommodate large groups for school or community projects?

We are very flexible! We can accommodate small groups of 10 or large-scale community events with over 100 participants. For larger groups, we bring in additional professional artists to ensure every participant gets personal guidance and support. No matter the size of your youth group in Cologne, we have the resources to make it a success.

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next youth initiative in Cologne? It’s more than just painting—it’s about building a sense of belonging and achievement in a city that celebrates street culture. Here’s why we’re the perfect fit:

Confidence boost: Nothing builds self-esteem like seeing your own 2-metre tall artwork on a wall! 💪
Pro mentors: Work side-by-side with real artists who live and breathe the Cologne street art scene.
Team building: Our collaborative murals require communication, planning, and mutual respect. 🎉
Safe & legal: We teach the difference between vandalism and art, focusing on legal expression in designated areas.
Unique experience: Move away from traditional hobbies and give them something they’ll actually want to post on Instagram! 📸
Flexible & reliable: With backup artists always on call, your project will go ahead no matter what.

Krok za krokem

Intro & inspiration: We start with a quick look at the history of graffiti and the local Cologne street art scene to get those creative juices flowing.
The gear up: Safety first! Everyone gets fitted with protective suits, gloves, and professional masks to stay clean and safe.
The blank canvas: We head to a legal wall or set up large wooden panels where the magic is about to happen.
First lines: Our artists teach the basics—how to hold the can, control pressure, and create clean lines and dots.
Sketching the vision: Participants sketch their ideas, learning how to scale up small drawings into large-scale murals.
Filling & fading: The fun part! We explore colour blending, 3D effects, and "fill-ins" to bring the piece to life.
Outlining & details: Learn how to make the artwork pop using high-contrast outlines and highlights for that professional finish.
The big reveal: We step back, admire the collective masterpiece, and snap some high-energy group photos.
Clean up: We pack up everything responsibly, leaving the site tidy while taking away a lifetime of cool memories.

Místní kultura

Cologne isn't just about the Cathedral and Carnival; it's one of Germany's most important hubs for urban culture. The city's street art scene is legendary, particularly in districts like Ehrenfeld, where you'll find world-class murals around every corner. Our workshops tap into this local heritage, often taking place at dedicated "Halls of Fame" like the one at the Geldernstraße station, where the air is thick with creativity and history.

Fun fact: Cologne hosts the "CityLeaks" Urban Art Festival, which has turned entire neighbourhoods into open-air galleries. It’s the perfect backdrop for young artists to find inspiration before picking up a spray can!

By connecting youth with the local Cologne aesthetic, we help them feel a part of their city's living, breathing art scene. We don't just teach art; we share a piece of Cologne's modern soul. 🔥
