The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your Cusco summer camp? Because traditional crafts are great, but nothing beats the thrill of a spray can in your hand! It’s the ultimate way to engage teenagers and kids who want something a bit more 'cool' and 'edgy'. 🔥

  • Confidence booster: Watch quiet kids find their voice through bold, colourful strokes.
  • Teamwork in action: Many of our sessions involve creating one giant mural where everyone has to collaborate to make it look epic. 🤝
  • Professional mentors: Our artists aren't just teachers; they are active members of the street art scene who live and breathe this stuff.
  • Zero stress for organisers: We handle everything from setup to cleanup. You just provide the kids, and we provide the 'wow' factor.
  • Safe & legal: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, promoting respect for the local Cusco environment. 🏛️
  • Take-home memories: Whether it's a photo of the mural or their own canvas, the kids leave with a massive sense of achievement.

Step by step

  1. Introduction & safety briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy intro, explaining how to use the gear safely and the importance of using professional masks.
  2. The world of street art: Our pros give a quick, inspiring talk on the history of graffiti and how it evolved from underground tagging to world-class gallery art.
  3. Mastering the 'tag': Before touching a can, the kids practice their artistic signature on paper, learning about letter flow and personal style.
  4. Can control basics: We head to the wall! Participants learn the 'anatomy' of a spray can, practicing lines, dots, and how to avoid those pesky drips.
  5. Concept sketching: The group works together or individually to sketch out their big design on the wall using light colours.
  6. Filling in the colours: This is the fun part! The kids choose their palette and start filling in the shapes, learning about blending and gradients.
  7. The 'outline' and 'highlight': Our artists show them how to make their work pop by adding sharp black outlines and white highlights for a 3D effect.
  8. Final touches & group photo: We stand back, admire the masterpiece, and grab some epic photos of the crew with their finished street art.

Local culture

Street art in Cusco

Cusco is world-famous for its incredible Incan stonework and colonial architecture, but look closer and you'll find a thriving modern art scene tucked away in neighbourhoods like San Blas. The contrast between ancient history and contemporary street art makes Cusco one of the most inspiring places in Peru for a creative workshop. We love tapping into this local energy, encouraging our students to blend traditional Andean motifs with modern graffiti styles. 🏔️

Fun Fact: Did you know that some of the street art in Cusco's outskirts pays homage to the 'Pachamama' (Mother Earth)? It's a beautiful mix of ancient spirituality and modern urban expression!

Our workshops often take place in open-air spaces with views of the surrounding mountains, providing a backdrop that no indoor classroom could ever beat. Whether we're painting in a local park or a dedicated youth centre, the thin mountain air is always buzzing with creative potential. ✨
