Step by step

  1. Intro & inspiration: Our professional artist kicks things off with a high-energy intro, showing the kids the history of street art and some cool local Cusco examples.
  2. Safety first: Every pupil gets geared up in their protective suit, gloves, and mask while we explain the "Golden Rules" of spray painting.
  3. The tag creator: Before picking up a can, children practice their unique artist name (their "tag") using our sketching techniques or our online Tag Creator tool.
  4. First spray: We head to the boards! Students learn the basics: how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create different line widths.
  5. Character building: Pupils move on to creating shapes, outlines, and adding "fillings" to their graffiti pieces under expert guidance.
  6. The final masterpiece: Working together or individually, the children add the finishing touches, highlights, and "doo-dads" to make their art pop.
  7. Big reveal & photos: We celebrate the hard work with a group gallery walk and photos to immortalise the day's creativity!

Local culture

Street art in Cusco

Cusco isn't just about ancient stone walls; it’s a living gallery where history meets modern urban expression. From the colourful murals in the San Blas district to the contemporary street art that lines the outskirts, the city is bursting with visual stories. We draw inspiration from this unique blend of Incan heritage and modern Andean grit to show the children that art is a bridge between the past and the future. ✨

Fun fact: While Cusco is world-famous for its Incan architecture, many local artists use "muralismo" to tell the stories of the Sun God Inti or the Pachamama, blending traditional symbols with modern graffiti techniques! 🏆
