Do I need to be an expert artist to join this training?

Absolutely no prior experience is needed. Our training is designed to take you from a curious beginner to a confident graffiti instructor. We cover the fundamental basics of spray can control and safety before moving into the pedagogical aspects of how to teach these skills to others. It’s all about building your confidence so you can inspire your students.

Are materials like spray cans and masks included?

Yes, we provide all the necessary professional equipment. This includes a wide range of premium spray cans, various nozzles (caps) for different effects, and essential safety gear like high-quality masks and gloves. We also provide practice surfaces and educational hand-outs that you can take home to help plan your own future lessons and workshops.

Where exactly in Belo Horizonte do the workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible and mobile. We can host the training at one of our dedicated partner street art spots in Belo Horizonte, such as near the vibrant Santa Tereza area. Alternatively, if your school or institution has a suitable outdoor space with proper ventilation, our artists can come directly to you to conduct the session.

How long does the teacher training session last?

Standard professional development sessions usually run between 2 and 4 hours. However, we also offer more intensive full-day masterclasses for those who want a deeper dive into street art history, complex mural techniques, and advanced group management strategies. We can tailor the duration to fit your school’s professional development schedule or your personal goals.

What safety measures do you have in place for spray painting?

The safety of both teachers and students is our absolute priority. We only use low-pressure, high-quality spray paints that are easier to control. We provide FFP3 respiratory masks and nitrile gloves for all participants. During the training, we also teach you how to set up a safe workspace, manage fumes, and supervise students to ensure a risk-free creative environment.

How does the payment process work for schools or individuals?

We believe in the quality of our training, which is why we offer a 'pay after the workshop' policy. You don't need to make any upfront payments to secure your booking. Once the training is complete and you are satisfied with the skills you've gained, we handle the payment. This ensures total peace of mind for you and your school.

What happens if it rains on the day of my training?

Belo Horizonte is a city of hills and occasional rain! If the weather looks bad, we have several options. We can move the session to a covered outdoor area that still offers enough ventilation, or we can reschedule the training to a better day at no extra cost. We also have backup artists available to ensure your session never gets cancelled due to staff illness.

The experience

Why choose our professional development in BH? We bridge the gap between street culture and the classroom environment, ensuring you walk away with practical skills you can use immediately. Here’s why educators love our programme:

Expert Instruction: Learn directly from active street artists who know the "BH style" and classroom management.
Safety First: We teach you how to manage a classroom full of spray cans without compromising on health or safety.
Ready-to-Use Curriculum: Get lesson plans and project ideas that align with modern art education standards.
No Upfront Costs: Our "pay after delivery" model means zero risk for your school or organisation.
Boost Student Engagement: Graffiti is one of the best ways to re-engage students who might feel disconnected from traditional art forms.
Reliability: With backup artists always on call, your professional development day will never be "rained out" or cancelled.

Step by step

Introduction to Street Art Culture: We start with a brief overview of graffiti history, specifically focusing on the unique 'Pixo' and mural styles found right here in Belo Horizonte.
Equipment Mastery: You will learn about different spray paint brands, nozzle types (skinny, fat, calligraphy), and how to maintain your kit for long-term use in a classroom.
Can Control Fundamentals: Our professional artists guide you through basic lines, dots, and filling techniques to get you comfortable with the medium.
Safety and Setup: We demonstrate how to prepare a safe painting environment, including ventilation, floor protection, and the correct way to fit safety masks.
Teaching Methodology: This is the core of the session. We show you how to break down complex graffiti styles into simple steps that students of all ages can follow.
Collaborative Mural Project: You will practice leading and contributing to a group piece, simulating a real-world classroom project.
Cleanup and Maintenance: Learn the professional way to clear a site, dispose of cans responsibly, and store materials to prevent them from clogging.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Belo Horizonte isn't just the capital of Minas Gerais; it's a massive open-air gallery. From the iconic murals overlooking Praça da Estação to the hidden gems in Santa Tereza, the city breathes creativity. Our training taps into this local energy, drawing inspiration from the "Cura" (Circuit of Urban Art) which has transformed the city's skyline. We don't just teach you generic graffiti; we help you understand the local context of urban art in BH. Whether you are inspired by the architectural curves of Niemeyer or the gritty urban expression found in the city centre, our workshop helps you translate that "Mineiro" spirit into your teaching practice. It’s about more than just paint; it’s about connecting with the local identity.

Pricing

Our training sessions are competitively priced to fit both individual professional development budgets and school departmental funding. Prices generally range from R$120 to R$280 per person, depending on the duration of the session and the number of participants. We believe in transparency and flexibility, which is why we offer a "pay after the workshop" guarantee. No deposits, no stress!
