Do I need previous graffiti experience to join the training?

Absolutely! Our art teacher training in Klagenfurt is designed for all skill levels. We start with the absolute basics—how to hold a can, pressure control, and nozzle types—before moving into complex mural design. You don't need to be a 'street artist' to lead a successful classroom project; you just need the right framework, which we provide during the session. We'll build your confidence from the ground up!

Is spray painting safe for a school environment?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 masks, nitrile gloves, and protective overalls for all participants. During the training, we also teach you how to set up a safe workspace for your students, including proper ventilation outdoors and how to manage a group of kids with spray cans responsibly. You’ll leave feeling fully prepared to manage these risks in a school environment.

Will I receive any teaching materials or certifications?

Yes, you will! Every participant in our Klagenfurt workshop walks away with their own canvas creation and a professional certification of completion. Beyond the physical items, you'll receive a digital 'Teacher Toolkit' containing lesson plan templates, equipment checklists, and student assessment rubrics to help you integrate street art into your curriculum immediately without having to reinvent the wheel.

How much does the professional development session cost?

Pricing in Klagenfurt typically ranges from €30 to €60 per person, depending on the number of educators attending and whether we come to your school or use our local studio space. This price is all-inclusive of premium spray paint, safety gear, and instructional materials. Because every school's budget and requirements are different, we always recommend requesting a custom quote for the best rate.

How long does the training session last?

We are very flexible! While we recommend 3 hours to truly master the techniques and the pedagogical theory, we can adapt the training into a 1.5-hour 'taster' or a full-day intensive masterclass. We work around the Klagenfurt school schedule, offering sessions on weekday afternoons, weekends, or during inset days. Just let us know what fits your faculty's calendar best, and we will make it happen.

Why should I choose graffiti over traditional art for my students?

Street art is an incredible tool for reaching 'hard-to-engage' students. It levels the playing field, as it doesn't require traditional drawing skills to look impressive. Our training focuses on how to use graffiti to teach colour theory, typography, and social history. It also encourages teamwork and boosts self-esteem, making it a powerful addition to any Austrian art curriculum or youth development programme.

The experience

Why level up your teaching skills with Graffitifun?

Teaching graffiti isn't just about painting walls; it's about engaging students in a medium they actually care about. Our training gives you the "cool factor" while maintaining a safe, educational structure. Here is why educators in Klagenfurt love working with us:

Zero to Hero: No previous spray-painting experience? No problem! We'll have you "piecing" like a pro in hours. 🏆
Curriculum Ready: Our techniques are designed to be easily integrated into standard Austrian art curricula.
No Stress Booking: With our "no upfront payment" policy and backup artists, your training day is guaranteed to run smoothly. 🔥
Student Engagement: Learn the secrets to reaching students who usually "check out" during traditional art lessons. 🎤
The Full Toolkit: We don't just teach you to paint; we provide the lesson plans and risk assessments you need to stay compliant. 🛠️
Local & Flexible: We serve Klagenfurt and surrounding areas, including Vienna, Graz, Linz, and Salzburg.

Step by step

Introduction to Street Culture: We kick off with a brief history of graffiti and its evolution into contemporary street art, giving you the context needed for classroom discussions.
Gear Mastery: Learn the technical side—understanding different 'caps' (nozzles), paint brands, and essential safety protocols for students.
Basic Techniques: Get hands-on with lines, dots, and filling. You'll practice 'fading' and 'shading' to create 3D effects.
Sketching & Scaling: We show you how to help students move from a small A4 sketch to a large-scale mural using the 'grid' or 'doodle' method.
Classroom Management: A dedicated session on how to organise a class of 30 students with spray cans without losing control or making a mess!
Step-by-Step Lesson Planning: Together, we draft a curriculum-aligned lesson plan that you can use the very next week in your school.
The 'Final Piece' Project: Apply everything you've learned by creating a collaborative mural or individual canvas that showcases your new skills.
Feedback & Certification: A final wrap-up where we answer specific pedagogical questions and hand out your professional development certificates.

Local culture

Klagenfurt am Wörthersee might be famous for its Renaissance courtyards and the legendary Lindwurm, but there is a growing urban pulse beneath the surface of the Carinthian capital. By introducing graffiti training to your school, you are connecting your students to a global art movement that resonates right here in Austria. From the legal walls near the Lendkanal to the hidden creative corners of the city, Klagenfurt is the perfect backdrop for exploring the intersection of history and modern street culture.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Klagenfurt hosts various urban art initiatives that aim to turn grey underpasses into open-air galleries? Taking this training helps you bridge the gap between "vandalism" and "valuable art" for the next generation of local creators! 🎨

Pricing

Fair pricing for Carinthian educators
