Is the graffiti workshop safe for school students?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality masks, gloves, and protective suits for every student. Our spray paints are selected to be as safe as possible for outdoor use, and our professional artists provide constant supervision. We teach students the correct way to handle the equipment from the very first minute, ensuring a secure and creative environment for everyone involved in Ibagué.

How long does a typical school workshop last?

Our school workshops in Ibagué usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This timeframe is perfect as it allows enough time for a thorough safety briefing, a history lesson on street art, some practice runs, and the creation of a final masterpiece. If you have a specific school schedule to stick to, just let us know! We are experts at timing our sessions to fit perfectly within your school day.

What materials do we need to provide?

We provide everything! Your school doesn't need to worry about a thing. We bring the spray cans in a rainbow of colours, protective gear (suits, gloves, masks), and the surfaces to paint on (usually large plastic film walls or canvases). We even handle the setup and the clean-up afterwards. All we need from you is an outdoor space and a group of excited students ready to get creative!

Do the students need prior drawing or painting skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our professional Ibagué artists lead the students through the process step-by-step. We start with basic lines and shapes before moving on to more complex techniques. Every student, regardless of their artistic background, will be able to create something they are proud of by the end of the session. It's all about expression and having fun!

What are the educational benefits of a graffiti workshop?

Graffiti workshops are fantastic for building team spirit, boosting confidence, and encouraging unconventional thinking. Unlike traditional art classes, street art allows for large-scale collaboration and physical movement. Students learn about the history of a global urban culture while developing their fine motor skills and spatial awareness. Plus, it’s a brilliant way to beautify the school environment and give students a sense of ownership and pride in their work.

What is the maximum group size for a school event?

We can accommodate groups of almost any size! Whether you have a small art club of 15 students or a whole year group of 100+, we have the staff and equipment to make it happen. For very large groups, we bring in extra backup artists to ensure every student gets personal guidance and attention. Just tell us your numbers, and we will put together a plan that works for you.

Can the workshop relate to Ibagué's local culture?

In 'The City of Music', we love incorporating local culture! While the core of our workshop focuses on graffiti techniques, we often encourage students to draw inspiration from Ibagué’s musical heritage or local landscapes like the Combeima Canyon. If your school has a specific theme or local project they are working on, our artists can tailor the workshop to reflect those specific educational goals or local Colombian themes.

Step by step

Intro & Street Art History: We kick things off with a high-energy intro about the roots of graffiti and how it evolved into the global art form it is today.
Safety & Gear Up: Students get kitted out in professional protective suits, gloves, and masks. Safety first, style second!
Mastering the Can: Our artists demonstrate 'can control'—teaching students how to hold the spray can, regulate pressure, and create different line widths.
Sketches & Concepts: Students grab paper and pencils to map out their ideas, focusing on tags, throw-ups, or pieces relevant to the school theme.
First Strokes: Time to hit the 'wall'! Students practice their outlines on our temporary surfaces under the watchful eye of our pros.
Filling & Fading: We teach the secrets of 'filling in' and creating smooth gradients and colour transitions to make the art pop.
The Masterpiece Phase: Working individually or in teams, the students execute their final designs, applying everything they've learned.
Detailing & Outlining: The final touch! Adding sharp outlines and highlights to give the artwork that professional, finished look.
Group Gallery: We finish with a tour of the work, a group photo, and a debrief on the amazing skills everyone has picked up.

Local culture

Ibagué might be famous for its "Bambuco" and "Sanjuanero" rhythms, but the visual rhythm of the city is changing too! From the bustling streets near the Plaza de Bolívar to the creative pockets in the suburbs, urban art is becoming a key part of the city's identity. By bringing a graffiti workshop to your school, you're connecting students with a modern Colombian movement that celebrates public space and local voice.

Fun Fact: Did you know Ibagué is known as the "Musical Capital of Colombia"? We often find that students here have a natural sense of rhythm that translates perfectly into the flowing motions of spray painting!

Pricing

Our school workshops in Ibagué are designed to be accessible and high-impact. Pricing typically ranges from $100,000 to $250,000 COP per student.
