How long does a typical school graffiti workshop last?

For school groups in Paysandú, we generally recommend 90 minutes to 2 hours. This provides the perfect balance of theory, practice, and the creation of a final masterpiece. If you have a larger group or want to create a permanent mural on a school wall, we can extend the session to a full-day 'street art intensive' experience. We are flexible and can work around your school timetable and break periods.

Is it safe for students to use spray paint?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls to keep students and their uniforms clean. We use low-pressure spray cans that are easier for beginners to control and carry out our sessions in well-ventilated outdoor areas. Our professional artists are trained to supervise large groups, ensuring a fun environment where everyone follows safety protocols while staying creative.

What materials do we need to provide?

You don't need to lift a finger! Graffitifun provides everything required for a successful day of art. This includes a wide range of premium spray paint colours, caps, protective clothing, and the surfaces for painting (usually large plastic foils or canvases). If you'd like us to paint a permanent wall at your school, we can arrange that too. Just bring your energy and some old clothes—we handle the rest!

What are the educational benefits of a graffiti workshop?

Street art is a fantastic way to teach kids about teamwork, planning, and self-expression. Beyond the physical art, students learn about the history of the movement, the importance of respect for public space, and how to scale up small sketches into large-scale works. It builds confidence in those who might not excel in traditional academic subjects, showing them that 'art' has many different forms and styles.

Can you accommodate large groups or entire year levels?

We can host workshops for anything from a single small class to an entire year group. For very large numbers, we often rotate groups through different stations or have multiple artists leading sub-groups simultaneously. Whether you have 15 or 150 students, we have the staff and the 'backup artist' guarantee to ensure your scheduled event in Paysandú goes off without a hitch. Every student gets hands-on time!

Do you come to our school or do we travel to you?

Yes! We can bring the workshop directly to your school playground or sports field in Paysandú. We use mobile setups that leave no mess behind. If your school doesn't have a suitable outdoor space, let us know—we can often suggest local spots or alternative venues nearby. We make the logistics as simple as possible so teachers can focus on enjoying the day alongside their students.

Do students need previous art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for complete beginners. Our expert artists start with the basics, like how to hold a can and control the pressure. We guide students through 'tagging' and 'piece' creation step-by-step. You’ll be amazed at how quickly students who think they aren't 'artistic' find their flow and create something they are truly proud of by the end of the session.

Safety & Technique Briefing: Students learn how to use the equipment safely and get a demo on basic can control and different nozzle 'caps'.
Sketching Your Vision: Before the paint flies, we help students brainstorm ideas and sketch out their designs on paper.
First Sprays: Under expert guidance, students head to the 'walls' to practice basic lines, circles, and fills to get a feel for the medium.
Masterpiece Creation: Whether working on individual canvases or a giant collaborative mural, the main painting phase begins!
Detailing & Outlining: Our artists show students how to add those professional finishing touches, highlights, and sharp outlines.
Group Gallery & Review: We wrap up by admiring the collective work, discussing what was learned, and taking plenty of photos for the school newsletter.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Paysandú, Uruguay’s 'Ciudad Heroica,' has a deep tradition of resilience and community pride that perfectly matches the spirit of street art. While the city is famous for its beer and the famous Chajá dessert, there is a growing appreciation for urban murals that tell the story of the local people and the Uruguay River. Bringing an educational graffiti workshop here means tapping into that local creative energy!

Fun Fact: Did you know that Paysandú is home to some of the most striking monument architecture in Uruguay? We use that local sense of scale and design to inspire students during our sketching sessions!
