Memorable takeaways: Campers don't just leave with memories; they leave with their own canvas and the skills to keep creating. 🎉
100% Fun guaranteed: We’ve done hundreds of these—we know exactly how to keep the energy high and the smiles wide!

How it works

Intro & safety briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy intro to graffiti culture and a vital safety walk-through. Every camper gets geared up with masks and suits.
The first spray: Campers learn how to handle the can, practicing basic lines, dots, and pressure control on practice boards.
Tag creation: Using our digital Tag Creator for inspiration, everyone designs their own unique street art alias and practices their signature style.
Sketching the masterpiece: We move to the canvases or walls, where artists help campers sketch out their main concepts using chalk or light paint.
Filling in the color: This is where the magic happens! Campers learn 'filling' techniques to make their designs pop with vibrant Mekelle-inspired colors.
Outlining & detailing: We teach the pros' secrets for sharp outlines and highlights that make the artwork look three-dimensional and professional.
Group mural collab: Everyone works together on a massive piece, learning the importance of teamwork and collective creativity in street art.
The grand reveal: We peel back the tape, clean up the edges, and celebrate the incredible gallery of art created by the youth.
Photo op & cleanup: We take high-quality photos of the crew and their work before packing up our gear, leaving nothing behind but great memories.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a typical graffiti workshop session last?

Most summer camp sessions in Mekelle last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives the youth enough time to learn the basic strokes, design their personal masterpieces, and collab on a large group mural. We find this is the 'sweet spot' for keeping energy high and creativity flowing without getting tired. We can also organize multi-day programs if you want a deeper dive into street art culture and techniques.

Is it safe for kids and teenagers to use spray paint?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, gloves, and protective suits for everyone. Our artists are seasoned pros who supervise the kids at every step, ensuring the spray cans are used correctly and responsibly. We use low-odor, high-quality paint to make sure the environment stays as fresh as the art being created. Plus, we always have backup artists on standby!

What is the minimum age for participants?

For our summer camp programs in Mekelle, we generally recommend a minimum age of 8 years old. This ensures that the participants have the physical strength to press the spray caps and the focus to follow safety instructions. However, we can adapt our workshops for younger groups using water-based markers or stencil art if needed. We’re all about making street art accessible to everyone!

Do the campers need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We start with the very basics—how to hold the can, how to control the pressure, and how to draw a simple line. Our professional artists are there to guide each camper, helping them build confidence until they are ready to create their own vibrant tags and pieces. It’s all about the process and having a blast!

Where do the workshops take place in Mekelle?

We’re flexible! We can host the summer camp activities at a location of your choice in Mekelle, or we can arrange a cool outdoor spot or a local community center. If you have a specific wall in mind (with permission, of course!), we can work there, or we can bring large canvases and mobile boards to your campsite. We bring the studio to you, wherever you are in the city.

What is included in the workshop package?

We provide everything needed for a world-class street art experience! This includes a wide variety of professional spray paint colors, different types of caps (nozzles) for various effects, protective gear (suits, masks, gloves), and the surface to paint on (canvases or boards). You just need to bring your energy and wear some old clothes and sneakers that you don't mind getting a little paint on!

How does the payment and booking process work?

We believe in a stress-free booking process for our Mekelle community. You don't need to make any upfront payments. You can book your date, and payment is only handled after the workshop is successfully completed. This ensures you are 100% satisfied with the creative explosion we bring to your summer camp. We also offer a 100% satisfaction guarantee—if you're not happy, we'll make it right!
