Is the spray paint safe for people with sensory sensitivities?

Absolutely! We use high-quality, low-odour water-based spray paint for our inclusive workshops. These are much gentler than traditional solvent-based paints, making them safer for sensitive airways and more pleasant for everyone involved. We also provide full protective gear, including gloves and masks, to ensure a clean and comfortable experience for every participant.

How do you accommodate participants with different mobility levels?

Our professional artists are trained to adapt their teaching style on the fly. Whether someone needs physical assistance with the spray can, visual cues, or simply more time to process instructions, we are here to help. We focus on 'ability' rather than 'disability', ensuring every participant feels like a genuine artist by the end of the session.

Can you provide a quiet environment for those with autism?

We understand that large groups or loud noises can be overwhelming. We can host workshops in quiet, familiar locations or break larger groups into smaller, more manageable 'art pods'. Our instructors are patient and calm, allowing participants to take breaks whenever they need them to ensure the vibe stays positive and stress-free.

What should participants wear to the workshop?

We recommend wearing old clothes and sneakers that you don't mind getting a little 'colourful'. While we provide protective ponchos and gloves, graffiti is a hands-on art form and the occasional stray drip is part of the fun! It's all about feeling relaxed and ready to dive into the creative process.

Do we need to travel to a specific studio?

We are fully mobile! We can bring the entire graffiti setup to your facility, school, or community centre in Coimbra. This is often the best choice for special needs groups as it allows participants to stay in a familiar, comfortable environment. Alternatively, we can suggest suitable outdoor locations if you'd prefer an authentic street-art vibe.

What safety measures are in place during the session?

Safety is our number one priority. We conduct a brief safety induction at the start of every session, use non-toxic materials, and maintain a high instructor-to-participant ratio. Our artists are experienced in working with diverse groups and are skilled at managing the environment to keep everyone safe while they enjoy their creative freedom.

Schritt für Schritt

Initial chat: We start by discussing the specific needs, interests, and abilities of your group to tailor the session perfectly.
Design phase: Our artists help the group choose a theme or a 'tag' that represents them, ensuring the design is accessible but cool.
Safety first: Everyone gets geared up in protective suits and gloves while we demonstrate how to handle the cans safely.
Practice strokes: We start with 'air-painting' and basic lines on cardboard to get everyone used to the pressure of the spray nozzle.
Filling the colours: This is the fun part! Everyone works together to fill in the large areas of the mural with vibrant hues.
The outline: Our professional artists help add the sharp outlines and 'shines' that make the graffiti pop and look professional.
Final signatures: Every participant adds their own personal tag or 'handstyle' to the masterpiece to claim their work.
Photo finish: We take group photos of everyone with their creation—a proud moment for every new street artist!

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Lokale Kultur

Coimbra is a city where tradition meets a vibrant, youthful spirit. While it's famous for its ancient university and Fado, the modern streets are increasingly becoming a canvas for creative expression. We love bringing our workshops to this inspiring setting, where the old stone walls provide a perfect backdrop for the bright, temporary colours of our inclusive murals. 🇵🇹

Fun Fact: Did you know that Coimbra is home to 'Portugal dos Pequenitos'? This spirit of making things accessible and 'to scale' is exactly what we bring to our workshops, ensuring that every participant, regardless of their physical reach or mobility, can contribute to a massive piece of art! 🏰
