Looking for a way to turn that post-school slump into an explosion of creativity? Our after-school graffiti workshops in Bucharest are the perfect solution for kids and teens who want to swap their textbooks for spray cans. We bring the vibrant energy of the Romanian street art scene directly to your students, teaching them the skills, history, and techniques behind this misunderstood art form. Whether they are budding Picassos or have never held a marker before, our professional artists guide them every step of the way in a safe, fun, and totally legal environment. It’s more than just painting; it’s about building confidence, encouraging teamwork, and giving young people a voice through vibrant, urban expression in the heart of the capital.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your after-school programme? It’s not just about making a mess; it’s about structured creativity. Here is why Bucharest schools love working with Graffitifun:

  • Boosts self-esteem: Seeing a large-scale piece of art they created themselves gives students a massive sense of achievement.
  • Encourages team building: Many of our projects involve collaborative murals where students must communicate and work together to finish the piece.
  • Safe and legal: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, focusing on respect for the urban environment and legal expression.
  • Professional mentors: Our artists aren't just great painters; they are experienced educators who know how to engage with younger audiences.
  • Stress-free booking: With no upfront payments and backup artists always on call, you can book with total peace of mind.

Step by step

  1. Introduction and safety briefing: We start by meeting the group and explaining the history of street art, followed by a vital safety demonstration on how to use the equipment correctly.
  2. Concept sketching: Students grab paper and pencils to brainstorm their designs, learning about letter structures, "tags", and "pieces" before they touch a spray can.
  3. Spray tech 101: We head to the wall (or boards) where our artists show how to control the pressure, create thin lines, and fill in large areas without drips.
  4. First strokes: Each student gets a dedicated space to practice their chosen name or character, getting used to the feel of the can and the different nozzles (caps).
  5. The big creation: Working individually or as a team, the students begin their main mural, applying the layers from background to foreground.
  6. Adding the details: This is where the magic happens! We teach the kids how to add outlines, highlights, and "3D" effects to make their art pop off the wall.
  7. Final cleanup and photos: Once the masterpiece is done, we tidy up the area. We always leave time for a group photo session so everyone has a memory of their creation.

Local culture

Street art in Bucharest

Bucharest is a city where history meets the modern edge, and nowhere is this more visible than in its street art. From the iconic murals around Piata Romana to the hidden gems in the Arthur Verona street area, the city serves as a massive open-air gallery. Our workshops draw inspiration from this local "București" grit and glamour. We often talk to the students about the evolution of Romanian street art, from simple tags to the massive, world-class murals that now decorate the city's old buildings. By participating, the kids become part of this ongoing cultural conversation, learning to appreciate the urban landscape of their own city in a whole new, colourful light.

Pricing
