Is the after-school graffiti workshop safe for children?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority. We provide all participants with high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks. Our professional artists are trained to supervise groups and ensure everyone uses the spray cans correctly. We also use low-odour paints whenever possible and conduct workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas, making it a perfectly safe and controlled environment for kids and teens.

Do the students need to have prior drawing or art skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, from complete beginners to budding young artists. Our expert instructors will teach the basics of 'can control' and lettering from scratch. We focus on the process and having fun rather than achieving perfection on the first try. Your child will be surprised at how quickly they can create something they are proud of!

What materials are included in the workshop price?

We provide everything needed for a successful session! This includes a wide variety of professional spray paint colours, protective gear (gloves, masks, and overalls), and the surfaces to paint on. We recommend that students wear 'old' clothes and sneakers just in case, even though we provide protection. We bring all the creative energy; they just need to bring their enthusiasm!

How long does a typical after-school session last?

Our standard after-school sessions typically last between 1.5 and 2 hours. This gives us enough time for a quick safety briefing, a demonstration of techniques, and plenty of hands-on painting time for each student to finish their masterpiece. We can also adapt the duration to fit your school's specific extracurricular schedule if needed. Just let us know your requirements!

Where in La Serena do the workshops take place?

Our workshops are highly mobile! We often host sessions on-site at schools in La Serena, using playgrounds or car parks. However, we can also arrange sessions at cool local spots or dedicated art spaces if your school doesn't have a suitable outdoor area. We are flexible and will work with you to find the most convenient and inspiring location for the students.

How much does an after-school workshop cost?

Our pricing is flexible and varies based on the group size and the specific setup required. For groups in La Serena, prices generally range between $20,000 and $45,000 CLP per person. Larger groups often benefit from a lower price per head. To get an accurate price for your specific after-school group, we recommend requesting a custom quote via our website.

Boosts Confidence: Seeing a giant, colourful mural completed in just a couple of hours gives students an incredible sense of achievement. 💪
Safe & Legal: We teach the difference between vandalism and street art, providing a constructive outlet for creative energy. 🛡️
Teamwork: Many of our projects involve collaborative murals where students must communicate and work together to finish the masterpiece. 🤝
Expert Instructors: Our artists aren't just talented; they are passionate mentors who love sharing their craft with the younger generation. 🎤
No Stress for Schools: We handle everything from the materials to the cleanup—the 'paint-free' way for schools to host an art event! 🧹
Guaranteed Fun: Let’s be honest, nothing beats the 'hissss' of a spray can and the smell of creativity in the air! 🎉

Step by step

Warm welcome and safety talk: We start by meeting the group and heading to the designated painting area. Safety comes first, so we suit up in protective gear and go over the ground rules for using spray cans.
The basics of can control: Our pro artists demonstrate how to hold the can, adjust distance for different effects, and how to create clean lines versus soft fades.
Sketching the vision: Students grab paper and pens to brainstorm their ideas. Whether it's their 'tag' or a collaborative mural theme, we help them get their thoughts onto paper first.
The first spray: Kids get to make their first marks on the wall or canvas! This stage is all about getting comfortable with the pressure of the nozzle and the flow of the paint.
Filling in the colours: Once the outlines are set, it’s time to bring the piece to life with vibrant colours. We teach techniques for smooth filling and blending shades.
Adding the 'pop': We show the students how to add highlights and '3D' effects to make their letters stand out from the background. This is where the magic really happens!
Final outlines and details: Time to sharpen those edges! We use black or dark colours to re-define the shapes, making the artwork look professional and crisp.
Group photo and cleanup: We celebrate the hard work with a group photo in front of the final masterpiece. Then, we ensure the area is tidy and all materials are packed away.

Local culture

La Serena is world-famous for its colonial architecture and stunning beaches, but it also has a growing heart for modern urban culture. Our workshops draw inspiration from the city's unique mix of traditional "Chilean Colonial" style and the modern energy of the Coquimbo region. We love teaching students how to blend the colours of a La Serena sunset into their pieces, using those iconic oranges and purples that light up the Elqui Valley sky. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that La Serena is the second oldest city in Chile? While the architecture is historic, the youth scene is anything but—making it the perfect place to bridge history with the contemporary art of graffiti! 🏆

Whether we are working near the lighthouse or in a school courtyard, the coastal breeze and open spaces of La Serena provide the perfect backdrop for a creative explosion. We are proud to contribute to the local art scene by teaching the next generation of creative minds.

Pricing

Our graffiti workshops are affordable and accessible for school groups. Prices typically range from $20,000 to $45,000 CLP per person.

Please note that total costs depend on the number of participants, the duration of the program, and whether we are providing canvases or painting on a permanent wall. We offer discounts for larger groups and recurring after-school bookings!
