Is the after-school graffiti workshop safe for children?

Absolutely! At our Wels workshops, safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality protective gear, including masks and gloves, and our professional artists supervise every single spray. We use low-odour, professional-grade cans and conduct a thorough safety briefing before anyone starts painting. It is a controlled, creative, and completely safe environment for kids to express themselves under the guidance of experts who have years of experience.

Do the kids need any previous art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, from total beginners who have never touched a spray can to kids who love to doodle in their notebooks. Our professional artists guide the group through basic techniques like lines, fills, and fades before moving on to the main piece. The goal is to learn, have fun, and build confidence through creativity, regardless of previous artistic experience.

How long does a typical session last?

The after-school sessions usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This timeframe is perfect because it allows enough time for a proper introduction, practice on the 'training wall', and the completion of a final masterpiece. We find this duration keeps energy levels high and focus sharp without the students getting tired. We can also adapt the timing to fit specific school schedules or community centre requirements in Wels.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We've got you covered! We provide everything needed for the ultimate street art experience: professional spray paint in a huge range of colours, caps (nozzles), protective suits, gloves, and high-quality masks. We also provide the canvases or boards that the students will be painting on. The only thing the kids need to bring is their enthusiasm and some old clothes and shoes—just in case a little paint wanders!

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Wels weather can be unpredictable, but we always have a plan! If we are scheduled for an outdoor session and it rains, we can often move the workshop to a covered outdoor area or an indoor space with proper ventilation. Because we have local backup artists and flexible setups, we do our best to ensure the workshop goes ahead. We’ll always coordinate with you to find the best solution if the clouds roll in.

How much does an after-school graffiti workshop cost?

Pricing usually ranges between €30 and €60 per person, but this depends on the group size, the duration of the session, and the specific location in Wels. We believe in transparency and flexibility, which is why we don't require upfront payments—you pay after the workshop is complete. For an accurate price tailored to your specific after-school group, we recommend hitting our 'Request a custom quote' button.

Can the students take their artwork home?

Yes, it is! While we love creating large-scale murals on walls, we often use large transportable boards or individual canvases for after-school programmes. This is great because it means the kids can actually take their artwork home to show their families, or the school can display the finished pieces in the hallway. It makes the experience even more rewarding when they have a physical piece of art to keep forever.

Builds confidence: Seeing a giant piece of art come to life gives students a massive sense of achievement.
Pro-level mentors: Work with real street artists who live and breathe the culture. 🎤
Safety first: High-quality masks and gear mean kids can focus on the fun without the mess.

Zero risk: With our backup artist guarantee and no-upfront-payment policy, your event is in safe hands. 🏆
Unique experience: Move away from standard sports and crafts with something truly "cool."

Step by step

Intro & inspiration: We start with a quick chat about the history of graffiti and look at some cool styles to get the creative juices flowing.
Safety first: Every student gets kitted out in protective gear and learns how to handle the spray cans safely and responsibly.
Sketching the vision: Before we touch the paint, we grab paper and pencils to map out our tags and designs.
First lines: On the practice wall, students learn 'can control'—making thin lines, thick borders, and smooth dots.
Colour theory: Our artists explain how to pick contrasting colours that make a piece 'pop' against the background.
The main event: It’s time! Students start filling in their designs on the final surface using their new skills.
Adding the 'pop': We teach the kids how to add highlights and '3D' effects to give their work depth and character.
The final outline: A crisp outline brings the whole piece together, making it look professional and polished.
Photo op & clean up: We finish by taking group photos with the masterwork before tidying up our creative station.

Local culture

Wels might be known for its historic charm and the bustling Messestadt vibe, but there is a growing pulse of modern urban art hidden within the city. Nestled along the Traun river, the creative energy of Upper Austria is palpable. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, encouraging Wels youth to add their own modern chapter to the city's story. We often find inspiration in the local surroundings, from the architecture of the Stadtplatz to the green spaces that dot the city.

Fun Fact: Did you know that Wels has a thriving youth culture scene? Hosting a graffiti workshop here isn't just about art; it’s about connecting with the city's long-standing tradition of trade and transformation by giving the next generation a new way to express themselves! 🎨
