Do the participants need any previous art experience?

Absolutely! Our youth projects in Wels are designed for beginners. Our professional artist-mentors guide you through every stage, from holding a spray can for the first time to mastering advanced shading techniques. We focus on building confidence and creative expression, so no prior artistic talent is required. We find that teens often surprise themselves with what they can create in just a single afternoon session!

Is the spray paint safe for teenagers to use?

Safety is our top priority. We provide high-quality respiratory masks, disposable gloves, and protective overalls to keep everyone safe and clean. We use low-odour professional spray paint and conduct our workshops in well-ventilated outdoor areas or specially designated mural zones. Our artists are trained to supervise groups closely, ensuring a fun environment where everyone follows the essential safety protocols while expressing their creativity.

How long does a typical youth workshop last?

A standard youth graffiti project in Wels usually lasts between 2 and 3 hours. This timeframe allows enough time for an introduction to street art history, a sketching phase, practicing can control, and finally completing a full-scale mural or individual canvases. For larger community projects or youth centre renovations, we can also arrange multi-day workshops to create more complex and detailed artworks.

What is the ideal group size for a youth project?

We are incredibly flexible! For youth groups, we typically recommend a minimum of 10 participants to keep the energy high, but we can accommodate much larger groups of up to 50 or more by bringing in additional professional artists. If you have a specific group size in mind for your project in Wels, just let us know, and we will tailor the artist-to-student ratio perfectly.

What should the participants wear and what doเรา provide?

Wear clothes that you don't mind getting a bit of 'aesthetic' paint on! While we provide full protective overalls and gloves, spray paint has a way of finding gaps, especially on shoes. We recommend wearing old trainers and comfortable outdoor clothing. We provide all the professional materials, including premium spray cans in a huge range of colours, caps, masks, and sketching supplies. You just bring the energy!

Where in Wels do these workshops take place?

Wels has some fantastic designated spots, but we are also mobile! We can host the workshop at your youth centre, school grounds, or a local public space with the correct permissions. If you don't have a specific wall in mind, we can provide large mobile wooden canvases or cellograffiti (shink-wrap between pillars) which allows us to create a 'pop-up' street art gallery anywhere in the city.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Weather is part of the adventure, but we always have a plan B! If the Wels weather isn't playing ball, we can often move the project indoors if the venue is well-ventilated and we use water-based spray paints or markers. Alternatively, we can use our backup artist system to rearrange the date at no extra cost to ensure your youth group gets the best possible outdoor painting experience.

The experience

Choosing a Graffitifun project means choosing more than just a painting lesson—it's about empowerment and community building. Here is why our Wels workshops are a hit:

Real Artist Mentors: Work alongside professional graffiti artists who live and breathe street culture. 🎤
Boost Confidence: Seeing a giant mural completed as a team gives young people a massive sense of pride. 🏆
Legal & Safe: We provide a legitimate outlet for urban expression, teaching respect for public spaces. 🛡️
All-Inclusive: We handle everything—from the high-quality paint to the necessary insurance. 🎒
No Stress Booking: No upfront payment required! Pay only after the creative magic has happened. 💸
Guaranteed Fun: Our workshops are high-energy, music-filled, and designed to keep everyone engaged. 🎉

Step by step

Introduction & Safety: We start with a high-energy intro to street art culture and a vital safety briefing on how to use the equipment properly. ✨
Concept Sketching: Participants grab paper and pens to brainstorm ideas, focusing on tags, throw-ups, and piece designs. ✨
Can Control Practice: Before hitting the main wall, everyone practices basic lines, dots, and filling techniques on a test surface. ✨
Outlining the Mural: Our professional artist helps the group sketch the master design onto the large-scale surface. ✨
Colour Filling: This is where the magic happens! The youth group works together to fill in the designs with vibrant colours. ✨
Adding Details: We teach how to add highlights, lowlights, and "3D" effects to make the letters pop off the wall. ✨
The Final Outline: A crisp final outline is added to sharpen the edges and give the artwork a professional finish. ✨
Photo Ops & Wrap-up: We finish with a group photo session in front of the masterpiece to celebrate the collective achievement. ✨

Local culture

Wels is a city that beautifully bridges the gap between historical charm and modern industrial energy. From the banks of the Traun river to the bustling city centre, there is a growing appreciation for urban art forms. Our youth projects tap into this local spirit, giving the younger residents of Wels a chance to contribute to their city's visual landscape in a positive, legal way. We love working in Upper Austria because the community spirit is so strong, and the local youth are always bursting with original ideas that reflect their unique perspective on Austrian life. 🇦🇹

Fun Fact: Wels is famous for its major trade fairs, but did you know it also has a thriving underground creative scene? By bringing street art workshops here, we're helping to turn Wels into a more colourful hub for the next generation of Austrian creatives! 🎨🔥
