Is the graffiti workshop safe for young people?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 masks, gloves, and protective suits to all participants. Our professional artists are experienced in working with youth groups in Amsterdam and ensure a controlled environment. We use low-odour professional spray paint and conduct an extensive safety briefing before anyone touches a can, making it a secure experience for everyone involved.

How long does a typical youth workshop last?

Our youth projects in Amsterdam usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This timeframe allows enough time for the introductory talk, sketching, practicing techniques, and then creating a large-scale final piece. If you have a specific schedule to stick to, just let us know. We can often tailor the duration to fit into your wider youth programme or community event schedule without losing the quality of the experience.

Do we need to provide the location in Amsterdam?

We are highly flexible! We can host workshops at our designated 'Hall of Fame' graffiti spots in Amsterdam, which offers an authentic street art vibe. Alternatively, we can come to your youth centre, school, or community hub. If we work on-location, we use large plastic sheets to protect the surroundings and can work on mobile wooden panels or stretch plastic films, ensuring no permanent marks are left behind.

Do the participants need any prior drawing skills?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our artist mentors guide the group through every stage, from holding the can correctly to advanced fading techniques. We focus on boosting confidence and self-expression, so every participant walks away feeling proud of what they’ve created, regardless of their previous artistic ability. It is all about the process and having fun together.

What are the costs for a youth project in Amsterdam?

Prices typically range from €25 to €55 per person. The final cost depends on the group size, the duration of the workshop, and whether we are at our location or yours. We operate on a 'pay after the workshop' basis, meaning you don't have to worry about upfront costs. For an accurate price tailored to your specific youth project needs, we always recommend requesting a free, no-obligation custom quote.

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything! This includes a wide range of spray paint colours, caps (nozzles), gloves, masks, and protective overalls. We also bring the 'canvas'—whether that’s boards, a wall, or film. Participants just need to wear comfortable clothing they don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on. We even have backup artists available to ensure your event goes ahead no matter what, providing total peace of mind for organisers.

The experience

Why choose our graffiti workshops for your next youth project in Amsterdam? It’s more than just spraying paint; it's an educational and social journey. Here is why we are the top choice for youth leaders:

Boosts self-esteem: Creating something large-scale and visible gives young people a massive sense of accomplishment.
Safe environment: We take care of all the safety gear and professional supervision, so you can relax.
Authentic experience: Led by real street artists who live and breathe the culture of Amsterdam.
Team building: Our projects often involve collaborative murals where communication is key to success.
Zero risk: With our "pay after" policy and backup artist guarantee, your project is in safe hands.
Social impact: Graffiti is a powerful tool for reaching disengaged youth and giving them a positive outlet.

In addition to youth projects, we also offer specialized workshops for schools, festivals, bachelor parties, brand activations, company events, and kids parties.

Step by step

Introductory briefing: We kick things off with a brief history of the Amsterdam street art scene and a vital safety demonstration.
Concept brainstorming: Participants work together or individually to sketch out themes, symbols, or tags that represent their message.
Technical practice: Our artists teach the basics, including how to control pressure, create thin lines, and fill large areas smoothly.
Outline drawing: The young creators move to the main surface to sketch their design using light spray paint colours.
Colouring and filling: This is where the piece comes to life as the group adds vibrant shades and gradients to their artwork.
Detailing and 3D effects: We show how to add highlights, shadows, and sharp outlines to make the graffiti "pop" off the wall.
The grand reveal: The group steps back to admire their collective masterpiece and take photos of their incredible achievement.
Tidying up: We handle all the cleanup, ensuring the Amsterdam location is left spotless while participants take their memories (and skills) home.
