Is the graffiti workshop safe for teenagers?

Absolutely! At Graffitifun, safety is our main priority. We provide professional-grade protective masks, gloves, and overalls to all participants. Our Almere instructors are highly experienced in managing youth groups and ensure that everyone uses the spray cans correctly. We choose locations that are safe and legal, giving parents and organisers total peace of mind while the kids get creative.

How long does a typical youth workshop last?

Our youth project workshops typically last between 1.5 and 3 hours. This gives us enough time to cover the basics of street art history, practice spraying techniques, and complete a final masterpiece. We can also adjust the timing to fit into a specific school day or youth centre schedule, ensuring everyone has enough time to finish their work without rushing.

Where in Almere do the workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible with locations. We can host the workshop at one of our dedicated graffiti spots in Almere, or we can come to your school, community centre, or youth club. If we do it at your location, we take care of all the protective coverings to ensure no paint gets where it shouldn't. It's all about making it easy for you.

Do we need to provide our own materials or paint?

Everything is included in the price! We provide the spray paint, caps, high-quality masks, gloves, protective suits, and the surfaces to paint on (like large boards or legal walls). You don't need to bring any special equipment—just wear some old clothes and comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a tiny bit of dust on. We handle the rest.

What is the recommended age for youth projects?

We recommend our youth projects for participants aged 10 and up. At this age, they have the physical strength to press the spray caps and the focus to follow the creative instructions. However, we can adapt sessions for slightly younger children if needed. It’s a fantastic way for teens to express themselves in a language that feels modern and relevant to them.

What if the kids have no artistic experience?

That’s the beauty of street art—it's for everyone! Most of our participants have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists are great at breaking down the process into simple, manageable steps. We start with basic lines and shapes before moving on to cool effects and lettering. By the end of the session, everyone will have created something they’re proud of.

How does the booking and payment process work?

Booking is simple and risk-free. You can reach out via our website to request a quote. We don't require upfront payments; you only pay after the workshop has been successfully completed. We also have a pool of backup artists ready to go, so you never have to worry about a session being cancelled last minute. We make the admin side as smooth as possible.

The experience

In a world of screens, our graffiti workshops offer a tactile, physical, and rewarding experience for teenagers. Here is why our youth projects in Almere are so impactful:

Boosts confidence: Seeing a large-scale piece of art they created with their own hands gives young people a massive sense of achievement.
Teamwork in action: Many of our projects involve collaborative murals, requiring communication and shared goals.
Safe environment: We provide a legal and controlled outlet for rebellious creativity, teaching respect for the environment.
Expert mentorship: Our artists are not just decorators; they are mentors who connect with the kids on their level.
No financial risk: With our pay-after-service policy, schools and youth organisations can book with total confidence.
Full service: We handle all the logistics—from protective gear to the final clean-up—so you don't have to.

Step by step

Introduction and safety briefing: We start with a warm welcome and a quick talk about safety, including how to wear the protective masks and gear correctly.
History and culture: A brief, engaging look at the roots of graffiti and how it evolved from street tagging to respected urban art.
Technique demonstration: Our pro artists show the kids how to handle the can, manage pressure, and use different 'caps' for various line widths.
Sketching the design: Participants brainstorm their ideas and sketch out their concepts on paper before moving to the 'canvas'.
The first layer: Time to spray! Everyone starts by putting down their base colours and learning how to fill large areas evenly.
Details and outlines: This is where the art comes to life. We teach them how to add sharp outlines and vibrant highlights to make the work pop.
Collaborative masterpiece: Often, the group works together on one large mural, learning teamwork and communication through creative expression.
Final reveal and photos: We wrap up by admiring the finished work and taking group photos to document the project's success.

Local culture

Almere is a city built on modern ideas and bold architecture, making it the perfect backdrop for a graffiti youth project. As one of the youngest cities in the Netherlands, Almere has a unique energy that resonates with street art culture. From the sleek lines of the City Center to the creative vibes in Almere Buiten, there is an appreciation for the 'new' that you won't find in older, more traditional cities.

We tap into this local spirit by encouraging young residents to add their own creative mark to the city's story. Our workshops often take inspiration from Almere's innovative urban planning and its relationship with water and nature. By connecting the youth with local street art experts, we help foster a sense of pride and belonging within the community, proving that Almere isn't just a place to live, but a canvas for the next generation of creators.

Pricing

Our youth project pricing is designed to be accessible for community groups and schools in Almere. We believe every young person should have the chance to experience the power of art.

Price range: €25 - €55 per person (inclusive of all materials).

Please note that final costs depend on the number of participants, the duration of the project, and any specific location requirements. We offer transparent pricing with no hidden fees, and the best part? You only pay after the workshop is finished.
