Do the participants need any previous art experience?

Absolutely no prior drawing or painting experience is necessary to join our summer camp. Our professional artists are experts at teaching beginners from the ground up. We start with basic shapes and safety, ensuring every participant feels confident before they even touch a spray can. It is all about the joy of creating something new and expressing yourself in a supportive, fun environment.

Is the graffiti summer camp safe for children and teenagers?

Safety is our absolute number one priority. We provide high-quality FFP3 respirators, protective overalls, and gloves to every participant. Our workshops take place in well-ventilated areas or outdoor spaces. Furthermore, our instructors are highly experienced in managing groups of young people, ensuring that the equipment is used correctly and that everyone follows the safety protocols throughout the entire session.

What should my child bring to the workshop?

We recommend that participants wear comfortable clothing and old shoes that they don't mind getting a bit of paint on. While we provide full-body protective overalls, paint has a mysterious way of finding gaps! Bringing a water bottle and a snack for the break is also a great idea to keep energy levels high during our creative sessions in Almere.

What happens if it rains on the day of the activity?

In the event of light rain, we often work under shelters or marquees. If the weather is truly unsuitable for an outdoor session, we have indoor backup options or can reschedule to a different time during the summer camp period. We always have a 'plan B' ready to ensure the creative fun doesn't stop just because of a few rain clouds.

How long does a typical graffiti session last?

Our standard summer camp sessions usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours, depending on the specific package and group size. This duration is perfectly balanced to allow for a thorough introduction, design planning, and plenty of actual spraying time without the participants getting overly tired. We can also adapt the timing to fit into your existing camp itinerary.

Can we choose a specific theme for the graffiti mural?

We offer a high degree of flexibility. You can choose a specific theme for the day, such as 'Climate Action', 'Team Unity', or 'Street Style'. Alternatively, we can let the youth decide their own individual concepts. We often work towards a large collective mural where everyone's individual style contributes to one massive, impressive piece of community art.

Do you cater for large groups or multiple camp classes?

Yes, we have a large pool of professional artists and a backup system in place. This means we can comfortably accommodate very large groups by bringing in additional instructors to maintain a safe and educational ratio. Whether you have a small group of 10 or a massive camp of 100+, we have the logistics and staff to handle it perfectly.

The experience

Why choose our graffiti summer camp for your youth group in Almere? It is more than just a painting lesson; it is an unforgettable experience that combines art, culture, and outdoor fun.

Zero stress planning: We provide everything from the spray cans to the protective gear—you just provide the kids!
Boosts creativity: Graffiti encourages bold thinking and helps youth find their own unique visual voice.

Physical & active: It is a great way to get teenagers off their screens and doing something physical and rewarding outdoors.
No risk booking: With our pay-after-service policy and artist backup system, your event is in safe hands.

Step by step

Intro & safety briefing: We kick things off with a high-energy introduction to the world of street art and go through all the vital safety rules and equipment usage.
Conceptual design: Participants grab paper and pens to sketch out their ideas, learning about letter structures, 'tags', and 'throw-ups' under artist guidance.
Cap technique practice: Before hitting the wall, everyone learns how different 'caps' (nozzles) create different line widths and effects on a practice surface.
Outline & fill: The real fun begins as the youth start sketching their designs onto the wall or boards and filling them with vibrant, professional-grade colours.
Detailing & 3D effects: Our artists show the tricks of the trade, like adding highlights, shadows, and 3D blocks to make the artwork pop off the surface.
The 'Power Line': We finish the pieces with a sharp outer contour, often called a power line, to give the graffiti that professional, polished look.
Group photo & cleanup: Once the masterpieces are finished, we take professional photos of the crew and their art before tidying up the site.
