Hey Gwangju! Are you ready to transform energy into art? Our Anti-vandalism graffiti workshop experience is all about showing how powerful street art can be when it's done with purpose and respect. Gwangju has always been a city of passion and expression, and we’re here to channel that into something awesome. Instead of tagging walls in the dark, we’re bringing you into the light to learn real spray-painting techniques under the guidance of professional artists. Whether you're a school group, a local club, or just a bunch of friends looking for something different, we provide a safe, legal, and incredibly fun environment to get your hands messy and your spirits high. Let's get creative! 🎨

Step by step

  1. The warm-up: We start with a brief intro to the ethics of street art and the difference between vandalism and public art.
  2. Mastering the tools: You'll learn the 'can-control' basics—how to shake, hold, and spray like a pro.
  3. Line work: Practice drawing straight lines, dots, and flares on a trial surface to get the feel of the pressure.
  4. Sketching the vision: Our artist helps you sketch out a design that focuses on positive community themes.
  5. Filling and fading: Learn the 'fill-in' technique and how to create smooth color gradients and fades.
  6. The outline: This is where the magic happens! We add the sharp outlines that make the graffiti pop.
  7. Details and shines: Add highlights and 'force fields' to give your artwork a 3D effect.
  8. The reveal: Step back and admire the collective mural or individual pieces you’ve created!

Local culture

Street art in Gwangju

Gwangju isn't just a city; it's the heart of South Korea's art scene! From the world-class Gwangju Biennale to the creative vibes of the Yangnim-dong Penguin Village, expression is in the DNA here. However, street art is often misunderstood. Our program bridge the gap between "scribbles" and "masterpieces," teaching the youth and locals alike that true artistic rebellion lies in quality and message, not just marking territory. We love the energy of the Gwangju streets and want to keep them beautiful yet vibrant.

Fun fact: Did you know Gwangju is known as the "City of Art and Culture"? It’s the perfect place to pick up a spray can and add your own chapter to its creative history! 🎨
