Do I need any prior art experience to join?

Absolutely not! Our Linköping workshops are designed for everyone from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Most of our guests have never held a spray can before. Our professional artists will guide you through the basics of canopy control and lettering, ensuring you feel confident and have a blast while creating your masterpiece. It’s all about the experience and the fun!

What should I wear to the workshop?

We’ve got you covered! We provide high-quality protective overalls, gloves, and masks to keep you and your clothes safe. However, graffiti can be a bit messy, so we always recommend wearing comfortable clothes and shoes that you wouldn't mind getting a tiny speck of paint on, just in case. Don't worry, you'll still look like a pro in the gear!

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We use low-odour, professional-grade spray paint and provide all necessary safety equipment, including FFP2 or FFP3 masks and nitrile gloves. Our instructors are highly experienced and will give a full safety briefing before anyone touches a can. We ensure a controlled, ventilated environment so you can focus entirely on your creativity without any worries.

How long does the graffiti session last?

A standard cultural event workshop in Linköping usually lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours. This timeframe allows for a brief history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, plenty of practice time, and the creation of your final artwork. If you have a specific schedule or want a more intensive 3-hour session, we can definitely tailor the duration to suit your group's needs.

Where in Linköping do the workshops take place?

We are incredibly flexible with locations! We can host the workshop at one of our partner creative spaces in Linköping, or if you have a suitable outdoor area or a well-ventilated indoor space at your own venue, we can bring the party to you. We handle all the setup and floor protection to ensure the 'art' stays only where it's supposed to!

How does the payment process work?

One of the best things about Graffitifun is our 'no-risk' booking policy! You don't need to pay anything upfront to secure your date. Simply book your session, and you can pay after the workshop is complete. This makes it super easy for groups to organise without the stress of immediate payments or complex refund policies. We want the process to be as smooth as the paint!

Can we keep the artwork we create?

Definitely! We encourage everyone to take their canvases home as a souvenir of their Linköping street art adventure. If you've worked on a large communal wall instead of individual canvases, we'll make sure you get plenty of high-quality photos to share on social media. It’s a fantastic way to remember your creative journey and show off your new skills to friends and family.

Step by step

Warm welcome and intro: Meet your pro artist at the Linköping site and get a quick, fascinating rundown on the history of global and Swedish street art.
Safety first: Suit up in our provided protective gear. We’ll show you how to use masks and gloves correctly so you stay clean and safe.
Can control basics: Learn the 'anatomy' of a spray can. Our artists demonstrate how to hold the can, swap nozzles (caps), and manage pressure for different effects.
Practice your tags: Head to the practice wall to get a feel for the paint. Try out lines, dots, and basic shapes to build your confidence.
Sketching your concept: Use our templates or your own imagination to sketch out your design on your canvas or wall space using light-coloured paint.
Filling and fading: Learn the secrets of 'filling in' your letters and creating those iconic graffiti colour gradients and fades.
The power of the outline: This is where the magic happens! Add a sharp outline to your design to make it pop and look professional.
Final highlights and details: Add 'shines', bubbles, or second outlines to give your work that extra layer of street art polish.
Photo op and wrap-up: Strike a pose with your masterpiece! We’ll take photos of the group and help you pack up your artwork to take home.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Linköping is a city where tradition meets innovation, known for its world-class university and aviation history. But beneath the tech-heavy exterior lies a growing appreciation for urban culture. While places like the 'Laglig Vägg' (legal walls) in other Swedish cities have set the trend, Linköping's local scene is finding its own voice in creative hubs and student-led art initiatives. Performing graffiti here feels like being part of the city's modern evolution. ✨

Fun Fact: Did you know Linköping is often called the 'City of Ideas'? Bringing a graffiti workshop here fits perfectly with that spirit of constant innovation and fresh thinking!

Whether we are setting up near the bustling student areas or in a quiet courtyard near the cathedral, the contrast between the historic architecture and your fresh, colourful creations makes for an unforgettable atmosphere. We love bringing this modern art form to such a storied Swedish city. 🇸🇪
