The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop these holidays? 🏆

Forget the screen time! A graffiti workshop is the antidote to holiday boredom. Here’s why parents and kids in Kota Kinabalu love our Graffitifun sessions:

  • Ultimate self-expression: Graffiti gives kids a voice and a style that is uniquely theirs. No "right" or "wrong"—just pure creativity. 🔥
  • Confidence boost: Seeing a giant, colourful piece of art they created themselves gives kids a massive sense of achievement.
  • Hands-on learning: We teach real techniques, from "fading" and "highlighting" to technical can control.
  • Safe rebellion: Kids get to do something that’s usually "off-limits" in a controlled, legal, and positive environment.
  • Memory making: It’s a unique experience they’ll be talking about long after they head back to school. 🎤
  • Expert instructors: Learn from the best! Our artists aren't just talented; they're great with kids and super enthusiastic.

Step by step

  1. Arrival and gear up: Meet your pro graffiti artist at the Kota Kinabalu venue. We’ll get everyone suited up in protective overalls, gloves, and masks.
  2. The Graffiti brief: A quick, high-energy intro into the world of street art. Learn about the culture, the terms (like tags, throws, and pieces), and safety rules.
  3. Sketching your vision: Before touching a can, we hit the paper. Kids learn how to structure graffiti letters and plan their colour schemes.
  4. Can control 101: The fun part begins! We teach the kids how to regulate pressure, use different caps for thin or thick lines, and move their whole body to get smooth strokes.
  5. Outline and fill: Time to hit the wall or canvas. Participants start with their 'fill-in' colours before adding the all-important outlines that make the art pop.
  6. Adding the 'Style': Our artists show the group how to add highlights, 3D shadows, and 'force fields' (outer glows) to make their work look professional.
  7. The final tag: Every artist needs a signature. Kids learn how to create their own 'tag' to sign off their masterpiece.
  8. Group photo and cleanup: We wrap up with a massive group photo in front of the finished art—the perfect souvenir for the school holidays!

Local culture

Street art in Kota Kinabalu

Kota Kinabalu is a city where nature meets urban energy, and while most people think of the stunning sunsets at Tanjung Aru, the city’s street art scene is quietly booming. From the vibrant murals near the Pillars of Sabah to the hidden gems in the back alleys of the CBD, KK is the perfect backdrop for a budding street artist. Our workshops soak up this local creative spirit, drawing inspiration from the incredible biodiversity of Borneo and the urban grit of the city centre. 🌲 🏙️

Fun Fact: Did you know that some of the most famous street art in Kota Kinabalu was painted on the ruins of a colonial-era building? The "Pillars of Sabah" project turned disaster into a community art gallery!

In our workshops, we encourage kids to blend traditional Malaysian patterns with modern graffiti techniques, celebrating the unique "Sabahan" identity through every spray of the can.
