Is the workshop safe for individuals with respiratory sensitivities?

Yes, safety is our absolute priority. We use low-odour spray cans where possible and provide high-quality FFP2 masks, gloves, and protective overalls for every participant. Our artists are trained to supervise the session closely, ensuring that everyone handles the equipment safely while having a brilliant time expressing their creativity in a controlled environment.

Do participants need any prior art experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. We focus on the process of creation rather than the final result. Our artists use techniques like 'fill-ins' and simple stencilling that allow everyone to create something they can be proud of, regardless of their previous artistic experience or fine motor skills.

Can you host the workshop at our specific care facility?

We are highly flexible regarding locations in Bern. We can host the event at a legal graffiti wall, or we can bring mobile wooden panels and protective flooring to your facility or a local community centre. We simply need a well-ventilated space or an outdoor area to ensure a comfortable and safe atmosphere for the group.

How long does a typical session last?

We recommend a duration of 90 minutes to 2 hours for special needs groups, as this keeps engagement high without causing fatigue. However, we can easily shorten or lengthen the session based on the specific concentration levels and energy of your group. We work at your pace, not ours.

What is the ideal group size for a special needs workshop?

We suggest a ratio of one artist per 8-10 participants to ensure everyone gets the personal attention they deserve. For groups with more intensive support needs, we are happy to adjust this ratio or work alongside your regular carers to ensure every individual feels supported and confident throughout the workshop.

Do we need to pay in advance?

We believe in a hassle-free experience. You don't need to pay anything upfront when you book with us. Payment is handled after the workshop is completed, ensuring you are 100% satisfied with the experience we provided. You can pay via invoice, making the administrative side as simple as possible.

The experience

Choosing a graffiti experience for a special needs group offers a range of therapeutic and social benefits that traditional art forms often miss. Here is why our Bern sessions are so impactful:

Sensory Engagement: The sound of the spray, the vibrant colours, and the physical movement provide a rich multi-sensory experience.
Fine Motor Development: Using spray cans helps with grip strength and hand-eye coordination in a low-pressure setting.
Absolute Inclusivity: We adapt our techniques for everyone, including wheelchair users and those with limited mobility.
Instant Success: Graffiti provides immediate visual results, boosting self-esteem and providing a sense of accomplishment.
Professional Guidance: Our artists are not just talented painters; they are patient mentors who adapt to the pace of the group.
No Stress Booking: With no upfront payments and a 100% satisfaction focus, we make the administrative side easy for care providers.

Step by step

Initial consultation: We chat about the specific needs, interests, and abilities of your group to tailor the workshop perfectly.
Site selection: We choose a wheelchair-accessible location in Bern or arrange to bring the workshop to your specific facility.
Safety briefing: Our artists introduce the gear, including masks and suits, in a calm and friendly manner.
Surface preparation: We set up the canvases or walls, ensuring they are at the correct height for all participants.
The 'No rules' intro: We demonstrate simple spray techniques, showing that there is no 'wrong' way to make art.
Guided creation: Participants start layering colours, with our artists providing as much or as little help as requested.
Stencil fun: We use custom stencils to help create sharp shapes and recognisable patterns easily.
Group photo: We celebrate the collective achievement with photos of the colourful mural and the artists.
Easy clean-up: We take care of all the mess and waste, leaving you only with the memories and the artwork.

Good to know

Our workshops are fully comprehensive. We provide all necessary materials, including professional-grade spray cans with various nozzles, protective overalls, gloves, and FFP2 breathing masks. Sessions typically last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours, though we can adapt the timing to fit the energy levels of your participants. We prioritise safety above all else, using well-ventilated areas and ensuring our artists are experienced in working with diverse needs. We also have a dedicated 'backup artist' system, meaning your event will never be cancelled due to staff illness.

Local culture

Bern is a city that beautifully blends its medieval history with a thriving, modern underground scene. While many know the Zytglogge and the bears, the local street art culture is pulses with life in areas like the Reitschule. Our workshops tap into this local spirit of independence and creativity. We bring the urban vibe of Bern's outskirts into a safe, accessible context. Whether we are inspired by the turquoise waters of the Aare or the bold colours of the local murals, our sessions help participants connect with the contemporary art scene of their home city in a way that is tactile, visual, and deeply rewarding.

Pricing

Our workshop pricing is designed to be as inclusive as our art. Prices typically range from CHF40 to CHF85 per person, depending on the group size, the location, and the specific materials required for your setup. We are committed to transparency, so you'll never find hidden fees.

Because every special needs group has unique requirements, we recommend getting in touch for a bespoke plan. Request a custom quote today to start planning your colourful adventure in Bern. Remember, there's no upfront payment required—you only pay once the workshop is successfully completed!
