How it works

Introduction & history: We kick things off with a high-energy talk about the evolution of street art, from its underground roots to the famous murals found right here in George Town.
Safety briefing: Students are geared up with masks, gloves, and protective suits. Safety is our top priority, and we explain the 'golden rules' of using spray cans responsibly.
Mastering the can: Our pro artists demonstrate the 'nozzle dance'—teaching kids how to control line thickness, fading, and pressure to get the perfect spray.
Sketching the vision: Students grab paper and markers to plan their designs. We help them brainstorm themes that represent their school spirit or a specific educational topic.
Practice runs: Before hitting the big wall, everyone gets a chance to practice their 'tag' or simple shapes on a dedicated practice area to build confidence.
The mural build: This is where the magic happens! The group works together on a massive collaborative mural, layering colours and adding details under our expert guidance.
Final outlines and 'pop': We show the students how to add sharp outlines and highlights to make their artwork truly stand out and look professional.
Review and photos: We finish with a group gallery walk-through, discussing the techniques used and taking plenty of photos of the students with their masterpiece.

Frequently asked questions

Is the spray paint safe for school students?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide all students with high-quality protective gear, including masks, gloves, and overalls to keep their school uniforms clean. We also use low-odour professional spray paint and conduct sessions in well-ventilated outdoor areas. Our artists are experienced in managing large groups and provide clear safety briefings before anyone touches a can, ensuring a secure and creative environment for all.

Can you tailor the workshop to a specific school project or theme?

Absolutely! While we love letting students explore their own creativity, we can easily integrate your current curriculum topics into the session. Whether you are studying historical figures, environmental issues, or specific art movements, our artists can guide the students to create a large-scale mural that reflects those themes. This makes the workshop both a fun physical activity and a valuable educational tool that reinforces classroom learning.

How long does a typical school graffiti session last?

We recommend a standard duration of 2 to 3 hours for school groups. This allows enough time for an introduction to the history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, individual practice, and the completion of a final group project or individual canvases. We can also adapt the schedule to fit into a single double-period or a full-day school arts festival depending on your requirements.

What is the maximum group size for a school workshop in Penang?

We are very flexible! We can accommodate small art clubs of 10 students or entire year groups of over 100. For very large groups, we bring in multiple professional artists and set up different 'stations' to ensure every student gets plenty of hands-on time and individual guidance. We believe everyone should have the chance to express themselves, no matter the size of the class.

Do we need to travel to a studio, or do you come to our school?

We usually come to you! We can set up our mobile graffiti walls in your school playground, car park, or any well-ventilated outdoor space. This saves you the hassle and cost of organizing transport for the students. If your school doesn't have a suitable space, just let us know, and we can help find a local creative spot in Penang to host the session.

Do the students need any prior art experience?

Not at all. Our workshops are designed for all skill levels, from those who have never picked up a can to budding young artists. We start with the basics—how to hold the can, how to control the pressure, and how to create simple shapes. Our instructors are experts at building confidence, ensuring that every student walks away feeling proud of what they’ve created.

What is your policy on payments and cancellations?

We offer a "no cure, no pay" philosophy and don't require upfront payments for school bookings. We understand that school administrative processes can take time, so you can settle the payment after the workshop has been successfully completed. We also have a backup team of artists ready to go, so you never have to worry about a cancellation ruining your planned school activity day.
