How long does a typical graffiti communion workshop last?

Most of our Chicago communion workshops last between 90 minutes and 2 hours. This provides the perfect window of time for everyone to learn the basics, practice their technique, and complete a final masterpiece without the younger guests losing focus. If you have a larger group or want a more in-depth experience, we can easily extend the session to fit your party timeline perfectly.

Is it safe for children and what should they wear?

Safety is our top priority! We provide high-quality protective gear, including gloves and masks, for every participant. We also recommend that guests wear older clothes that they don't mind getting a little paint on. Our professional artists are trained to supervise groups safely, ensuring that the only thing getting messy is the canvas, not your beautiful Chicago venue!

Can we host the workshop at any party venue in Chicago?

While we love the vibe of various Chicago neighborhoods, we do require a suitable outdoor space or a very well-ventilated indoor area for spraying. If your party venue doesn't have an outdoor area, we can discuss alternative options like using water-based paint markers or helping you find a local 'legal wall' space where we can host the creative portion of your celebration.

Can we customize the graffiti theme for the communion?

Absolutely! We often encourage the guest of honor to pick a theme or a specific word, like their name or a meaningful message, for the group to work on. Our artists will help sketch out the foundation, and then the kids can bring it to life with their favorite colors. It makes for a truly personalized celebration that reflects the child's unique personality.

What materials do you provide for the celebration?

Everything is included! We bring the premium spray paint, canvases (or a large shared mural boards), protective masks, gloves, and drop cloths. You don't need to worry about a thing except providing the space and the enthusiastic guests. We even handle the setup and the cleanup of our materials, so you can focus on enjoying the party.

What if none of the kids have ever done art or graffiti before?

Don't worry, that’s why we’re here! Our expert Chicago artists are masters at teaching complete beginners. We break everything down into simple, easy-to-follow steps. By the end of the session, even the most skeptical guest will be amazed at what they've created. It’s all about the process, the fun, and expressing yourself through color and movement.

How many guests can participate in the workshop?

We are very flexible with group sizes! Whether you are having an intimate family gathering of 10 or a massive celebration with 50+ guests, we can scale our team of artists to ensure everyone gets individual attention. For very large groups in Chicago, we typically bring multiple artists to keep the energy high and the creative flow moving smoothly.

Design planning: Our artists prepare a custom sketch or "piece" based on your child's favorite colors or interests.
On-site setup: We arrive early at your Chicago location to set up the protective flooring and organize the spray cans.
Safety briefing: We gear everyone up with masks and gloves while explaining the "rules of the road" for safe spraying.
Basic techniques: The workshop kicks off with a demo on how to hold the can, control the pressure, and create lines.
Practice session: Guests get to practice their tags and strokes on a practice wall to build their confidence.
The masterpiece: Everyone works together (or on individual canvases) to create the final colorful graffiti artwork.
Photo op: We take group photos of the kids with their finished work—perfect for those thank-you notes later!
Easy cleanup: Our team packs up all the gear and paint, leaving you with nothing but great memories and cool art.

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Chicago is a global hub for street art, boasting world-famous murals in neighborhoods like Wicker Park and the West Loop. When you book a workshop with us, you're not just getting a party activity; you're connecting with a culture that defines the visual landscape of the city. We bring that authentic "B-boy" energy and artistic precision to your communion party, teaching the kids about the history and respect that goes into every piece. 🎨

Fun Fact: Did you know that Chicago is home to the "Wabash Arts Corridor," one of the most expansive "living laboratories" of street art in the world? We pull inspiration from these massive downtown murals to inspire the next generation of Chicago artists! 🏙️
