How long does a typical graffiti cultural event last?

Most of our cultural workshops in Dodoma last between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This gives us plenty of time to cover the history of the movement, learn the basic spray techniques, and complete a final collaborative masterpiece. If you have a specific schedule for your event, we can easily shorten or lengthen the session to fit your itinerary perfectly. We are all about flexibility!

Do I need any prior drawing or painting experience?

Not at all! Our workshops are designed for absolute beginners. Our professional street artists will guide you through every step, from holding the can correctly to layering colours like a pro. Whether you think you are "artsy" or not, you will leave with a piece of work you are proud of. It is all about the experience and expression, not perfection.

Is the spray paint safe to use for everyone?

We take safety very seriously. We provide high-quality protective masks, gloves, and overalls to ensure no paint gets on your clothes or in your lungs. We also use premium spray paint that meets safety standards. Our artists provide a full safety briefing before anyone touches a can, ensuring a fun and worry-free environment for everyone involved in the heart of Tanzania.

Can you host the workshop at our specific event location?

Absolutely! We love bringing the workshop to you. Whether it is a community centre in the city or a private venue on the outskirts of Dodoma, we can set up our mobile graffiti walls. All we need is a well-ventilated space (outdoors is usually best). If you don't have a venue, let us know and we can help find a suitable location for your creative session.

What is the maximum group size for a Dodoma workshop?

For cultural events, we recommend a minimum of 10 people to get that great community energy, but we can accommodate groups of up to 100+ by bringing in extra artists and equipment. Large-scale workshops are a fantastic way to build connections and create a massive shared mural that represents your group's unique identity. Contact us for specific logistics for very large gatherings.

What materials do we need to provide ourselves?

We provide everything! This includes premium spray cans in a huge variety of colours, protective gear (masks, gloves, suits), and the "canvas" (whether that is a wall, boards, or individual canvases). You just need to show up in comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a bit of dust on. We handle the setup and the intensive cleanup afterwards.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

In the rare case of heavy rain, we usually look for a covered outdoor area or an indoor space with extreme ventilation. Because we have multiple artists available in our network, we are very reliable and rarely have to cancel. We will always communicate with you ahead of time to ensure the weather doesn't dampen the creative spirit of your Dodoma event.

The experience

Why choose a graffiti workshop for your next event in Dodoma? Because street art is the ultimate equaliser! It breaks down barriers and gets everyone talking, laughing, and creating together. Here is why our experience stands out:

🔥 Complete creative freedom: Express yourself in a way that traditional art classes just don't allow.
🎨 Expert guidance: Learn from professional artists who live and breathe this culture every day.
🤝 Inclusive vibes: Perfect for all ages and backgrounds—no "artistic talent" required!
✨ Memorable results: Create a huge mural or individual pieces that serve as a lasting memory of your event.
💪 Zero stress: We handle everything from the first spray to the final cleanup.

Step by step

Intro and inspiration: We start with a quick chat about the roots of street art and how it has evolved into a global cultural phenomenon.
Safety first: Get geared up! We provide your mask, gloves, and protective suit so you stay clean while getting creative.
The first spray: Learn the "can control"—how to hold the spray can, manage pressure, and create different line thicknesses.
Sketching the vision: Use chalk or light paint to map out your design on the wall or canvas, focusing on flow and composition.
Filling in the colour: Start bringing your piece to life! Our artists show you how to blend colours and create vibrant gradients.
Adding the details: Learn "cutting" and outlining techniques to make your graffiti pop and look sharp.
The character factor: Add highlights and those little artistic flourishes that turn a simple tag into a masterpiece.
Group photo and cleanup: We celebrate your work with a photoshoot before we handle all the messy cleanup for you.

Good to know

Our graffiti workshops are designed to be hassle-free and professional. A standard session usually lasts 2 hours, but we can customize this for full-day festivals or shorter pop-up events. We provide all materials, including high-quality spray paint and safety gear (masks, gloves, and suits). Safety is our top priority, ensuring a clean and secure environment for all participants. We recommend everyone wears comfortable shoes and clothes they don't mind getting a bit of dust on. Whether you are a small group or a crowd of 50+, we have the backup artists to ensure your event runs smoothly regardless of the scale! 🏆

Creative collaboration during a graffiti company outing

Local culture

Dodoma is a city of transformation. As the legislative heart of Tanzania, it perfectly blends modern development with deep-rooted traditions. This unique atmosphere provides the perfect backdrop for a graffiti workshop. While cities like Dar es Salaam are known for their coastal hustle, Dodoma offers a wide-open, sun-drenched canvas that inspires big ideas. Street art here is a growing conversation, and our workshops allow participants to contribute to that dialogue in a positive, legal, and insanely fun way.

Fun Fact: Did you know Dodoma was designed with plenty of open vistas and greenery? This "garden city" layout makes it one of the best places in the country for outdoor creative activities where the light is always perfect for seeing your colours pop! 🎨
