Do I need prior art experience to participate?

Absolutely not! Our Nice graffiti workshops are designed for everyone, from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Our professional artists guide you through basic spray can techniques and letter formation before you start your project. Most of our guests have never touched a spray can before they arrive, and they always leave amazed at what they managed to create. It's all about the experience and having fun!

What materials are included in the workshop?

We provide everything you need to create your masterpiece. This includes high-quality spray paint in a vibrant range of colours, protective gear like suits, masks, and gloves, and the canvas or wall space for your workshop. You just need to show up in comfortable clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting a little dusty. We handle the setup and the cleanup so you can focus on the art!

Is the spray paint safe to use?

Safety is our number one priority. We provide professional-grade FFP2 or FFP3 masks to filter out fumes, as well as protective suits and gloves to keep your clothes clean. Our workshops are held in well-ventilated outdoor or semi-outdoor spaces. Our instructors are experienced pros who teach you the correct way to handle the cans safely, ensuring a secure environment for all participants.

How far in advance should I book?

Ideally, we recommend booking at least 2-4 weeks in advance, especially during the busy summer season in Nice or for weekend slots. However, we have a large team of backup artists and can often accommodate last-minute requests. If you have a specific date in mind for a cultural event or celebration, get in touch as soon as possible to secure your preferred time!

Do I need to pay in advance?

One of the best things about booking with Graffitifun is our 'play now, pay later' policy. We don't require any upfront payment or deposits to secure your booking. You simply pay after the workshop concludes. This gives you total peace of mind and flexibility, ensuring you are 100% satisfied with your street art experience before any money changes hands.

How long does the workshop session last?

Our standard cultural graffiti workshops usually last between 1.5 to 3 hours. This allows enough time for an introduction to the history of street art, a demonstration of techniques, practice time, and the creation of your final piece. We can also adapt the duration to fit your specific schedule, whether you want a quick 'taster' session or a deep-dive masterclass into urban art.

What is the maximum group size for a workshop in Nice?

We love hosting groups! Our workshops are perfect for groups ranging from small families of 5 to large corporate events or festivals with hundreds of participants. For very large groups, we bring in multiple artists to ensure everyone gets personal attention and guidance. Whether it's a small workshop in the Port area or a massive brand activation, we have the capacity to scale to your needs.

Step by step

The warm welcome: Meet your professional artist at the designated Nice street art spot. We'll start with a quick intro to the local scene.
Safety briefing: We suit you up in protective gear and explain how to use the spray cans safely and effectively.
The masterclass: Watch a live demo where your instructor shows you how to control pressure, create lines, and blend colours.
No-pressure practice: Grab a can and start practicing your 'tags' and basic shapes on a practice surface to get a feel for the paint.
Concept sketching: Use our templates or your own imagination to sketch out your main design before moving to the final canvas.
Fill and fade: Learn the 'fill-in' technique to make your colours pop and master the art of smooth gradients and fades.
The outline: This is where the magic happens! Add the sharp outlines that make your graffiti jump off the wall.
Fine details: Add highlights, 3D effects, and 'power lines' to give your artwork that professional urban finish.
The big reveal: Step back, admire your work, and take some epic photos with your crew before we wrap up the session.

Local culture

Nice isn't just about the Promenade des Anglais and pebbly beaches; it has a thriving, gritty urban art soul hidden in plain sight. From the vibrant murals in the quartier du Port to the hidden gems near the Nice-Ville station, the city’s street art scene is a Mediterranean blend of classic French style and modern spray-paint rebellion. Our workshops reflect this local spirit, often taking place in areas where the sun meets the spray.

Did you know? Nice is home to some incredible 'trompe-l’œil' (trick of the eye) murals that blend perfectly with the city's baroque architecture—our workshops teach you the modern evolution of these age-old artistic traditions. 🎨

Fun Fact: Nice was a major hub for the early stencil art movement in France, influenced by the stencil pioneer Blek le Rat, who often visited the south!

Pricing

Our workshop prices in Nice are designed to be accessible for everyone, whether you're a small group of friends or a large organisation. Pricing typically ranges from €30 to €65 per person. The best part? At Graffitifun, we believe in 100% satisfaction. No upfront payment is required—you only pay after the workshop is finished and you're happy with the experience! 🎉
