Do I need to have any prior art experience to participate?

Not at all! Our Lyon graffiti workshops are designed for everyone, from total beginners to seasoned creatives. Our professional artists will guide you through every step, starting with basic spray techniques and safety. Most of our guests have never held a spray can before they arrive, and they leave with a masterpiece they're proud of. It is all about the joy of creating something new.

What materials are included in the workshop package?

We provide everything you need to become a street artist for the day. This includes high-quality spray cans in a rainbow of colours, protective gloves, masks, and overall suits to keep your clothes clean. We also provide the canvases or practice walls and all the sketching materials. Just bring your enthusiasm and wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting a little dusty!

What should I wear to the graffiti workshop?

While we provide protective overalls, we always recommend wearing 'painting clothes'—items you wouldn't mind getting a splash of paint on just in case. Sturdy, closed-toe shoes are essential for safety and comfort while standing. Since many of our locations in Lyon are outdoors or in semi-covered spaces, please check the weather forecast and dress accordingly for the temperature.

How long does a typical workshop session last?

A standard cultural workshop experience in Lyon typically lasts between 1.5 and 2.5 hours. This timeframe allows for a full introduction, safety briefing, practice session, and the creation of your final piece. If you are part of a larger group or booking for a specific festival, we can adjust the duration to fit your schedule perfectly. Quality and fun are our priorities!

Is the graffiti workshop safe for all ages?

Absolutely! Safety is our number one priority at Graffitifun. We use high-quality low-pressure spray cans which are easier to control, and we provide professional-grade filtered masks and gloves for all participants. Our instructors are trained to manage groups safely and ensure that the painting environment is well-ventilated and secure for everyone involved, regardless of age.

What happens if it rains on the day of the event?

The weather in Lyon can be unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered. For cultural events and workshops, we often have access to covered outdoor areas or indoor industrial spaces. If the weather is truly unsuitable for an outdoor session, we will coordinate with you to move the event to a backup indoor location or reschedule to ensure you have the best possible experience.

Can you accommodate large groups or corporate teams?

We offer great flexibility for groups! While our standard workshops are perfect for groups of 10 to 30 people, we can easily accommodate much larger crowds for festivals or brand activations in Lyon. For very small groups or individuals, prices might be slightly higher per person. It’s always best to contact us for a custom quote tailored to your specific group size.

Local culture

Lyon is a city where history meets the avant-garde. While famous for its traboules and Roman ruins, the Croix-Rousse district—once the home of silk weavers—is now a sprawling open-air gallery of street art. Our workshops tap into this local 'Canut' spirit of independence and creativity. We don't just teach you how to paint; we connect you with the local urban culture that makes Lyon unique. 🎨

Fun Fact: Lyon is home to some of the world's most famous "trompe-l'œil" murals, like the Fresque des Lyonnais. Some of these massive artworks cover over 1,000 square metres, blending seamlessly into the city's architecture! 😲

By joining our workshop, you're becoming a part of this living history, contributing your own energy to the city's colourful atmosphere. Whether we're set up near the banks of the Saône or in a hidden urban courtyard, the vibe is always authentically Lyon. ✨
