How long does a typical university graffiti workshop last?

Most university sessions last between 2 and 3 hours. This gives everyone enough time to learn the basic strokes, practice their 'tag' on paper, and then dive into the main event: spraying a large-scale piece. If you have a specific schedule to stick to, just let us know; we are flexible and can tailor the timing to fit into your event's itinerary without rushing the creative process.

Do we need any previous art experience to join?

Absolutely! Most of our participants have never touched a spray can before. Our professional artists are there to guide you through every single step, from holding the can correctly to mastering complex shading and outlines. We focus on technique and fun, ensuring that even the most 'artistically challenged' student leaves with a piece of work they are genuinely proud of. It’s all about the experience!

What about safety and protective clothing?

Safety is our top priority. We provide all necessary protective gear, including high-quality masks, gloves, and disposable overalls to keep your clothes clean. We also use professional-grade supplies and ensure the workshop takes place in a well-ventilated area. Our artists are experienced in managing groups and will give a comprehensive safety briefing before anyone starts spraying, ensuring a worry-free environment for everyone involved.

Where in Lyon do the workshops take place?

We can host the workshop at various locations across Lyon, including outdoor spaces or well-ventilated indoor halls. If your campus has a suitable outdoor area, we can often come directly to you! Alternatively, we have several partner spots around the city known for their creative vibes. We’ll handle the logistics of setting up the 'graffiti wall' (usually large wooden panels or plastic foils) to ensure no property is damaged.

What is the maximum group size for a student event?

We can accommodate almost any group size! Whether it's a small society of 10 people or a massive freshers' week event with over 100 students, we have the staff and equipment to make it happen. For very large groups, we often set up multiple 'stations' or work on one massive collaborative mural so that everyone gets plenty of time with the spray cans and stays active throughout the session.

What happens if it rains on the day of the workshop?

Lyon can be unpredictable, but we’ve got you covered. If we are planned for an outdoor session and the weather turns, we can often move to a covered area or use a ventilated indoor space. Because we have a large pool of backup artists and flexible equipment, we are usually able to adapt to the situation. We always discuss a 'Plan B' with you during the booking process to ensure the fun goes ahead!

Can we create a specific theme or logo for our society?

Yes! One of the coolest parts of our university workshops is the ability to create a collaborative mural. This is a fantastic way to represent your student union, society, or specific faculty. You can choose a theme, a motto, or a logo, and our artists will help the group integrate these elements into a cohesive, professional-looking piece of street art. It’s the ultimate team-building exercise and yields a brilliant photo opportunity!

Local culture

Lyon isn't just about fine dining and silk history; it's a massive playground for urban art! From the iconic murals of the Croix-Rousse slopes to the hidden gems in the 7th Arrondissement, the city breathes creativity. Our workshops tap into this local spirit, giving students a chance to contribute to the 'Gone' (Lyonnais) culture of expression. 🎨

Fun fact: Lyon is home to some of the world's most famous "trompe-l'œil" murals, covering entire apartment blocks. While we might not paint a whole building in one afternoon, we’ll definitely teach you the scale and impact that makes Lyonnais street art so famous! 🏢🔥
