The experience

Why bring a graffiti workshop to your secondary school in Volos? It’s more than just painting on walls—it’s about confidence, collaboration, and seeing art through a new lens. 🎨

  • Boosts Engagement: It’s the ultimate way to re-engage students who might find traditional art lessons a bit 'stuffy'.
  • Promotes Teamwork: Working on a large-scale mural teaches students how to communicate and collaborate on a shared vision. 🤝
  • Safe Self-Expression: We provide a legal, controlled outlet for urban expression, teaching the difference between art and vandalism.
  • Curriculum Links: Our sessions can be tailored to support Art & Design, History, or even Social Studies curriculum goals.
  • Stress Relief: There's something incredibly therapeutic about the 'fizzle' of a spray can—it's a great mental health break! ✨
  • Zero Pressure: We focus on the process and the fun, ensuring every student leaves with a sense of pride in what they've created.

Step by step

  1. Arrival and Setup: Our team arrives at your Volos school site early to set up the 'spray zone' with protective sheeting and all necessary equipment.
  2. Intro and History: We start with a high-energy talk about the history of graffiti, from New York subways to the vibrant street art scene in Greece.
  3. Safety First: Every student gets kitted out in protective gear and learns the 'golden rules' of using spray cans safely and responsibly.
  4. Doodling and Design: Students grab markers and paper to sketch out their concepts, learning about letter structure and 3D effects from the pros.
  5. The First Line: Under the guidance of our artists, students take their first sprays on the canvas, learning 'can control' and how to manage pressure.
  6. Filling and Fading: We teach the cool stuff—how to create smooth gradients, 'fades', and vibrant colour fills that make the artwork pop.
  7. Outlining and Details: The final touch! Students learn how to add sharp outlines and 'highlights' to give their graffiti that professional, crisp look.
  8. The Big Reveal: We finish with a group gallery walk or a mural unveiling where the students can celebrate their collective creative achievement.

Local culture

Street art in Volos

Volos isn't just a gateway to the Pelion; it's a city with a growing appreciation for urban aesthetics. From the murals near the port to the hidden gems in the Nea Ionia district, street art is becoming part of the local identity. We love bringing our workshops here because the students often draw inspiration from the city's unique mix of industrial heritage and mythological roots (shoutout to Jason and the Argonauts!). 🚢

Fun Fact: Volos is famous for its 'Tsipouradika', but did you know the city's urban landscape is increasingly being transformed by local street art festivals that aim to brighten up school walls and public spaces?

Pricing

Our workshop prices are designed to be scaleable for schools, ensuring you get the best value for your students. Rates typically range from €20 to €45 per person, depending on the number of participants, the duration of the session, and whether you want individual canvases or a large permanent mural.

We believe in transparency and flexibility, which is why we offer a no upfront payment policy—you only pay after the workshop is complete! 🎈
